With huge thanks to for facilitating this summer’s Vancouver Ice Cream Festival, and to everyone who visited our shop over the course of the festival and purchased a sundae! Not to mention, our awesome sundae collaborators and .yvr we were able to sell more than 850 delicious, super special, fan favourite festival sundaes! 🎉🙌🏼

Having pledged 10% of all festival sundae sales to help , that means we raised over a thousand bucks to contribute to the building of the sanctuary and all the preparations being made toward the ultimate goal of safely bringing this inspirational orca back to her natural home the Pacific Northwest. These pints are made of two things - those extra special, organically-grown green grapes that are only ever available for a short time each summer, swirled with our delightfully smooth and creamy BC dairy ice cream. The result is a uniquely flavourful experience that bursts with grapey goodness and that spun-sugar cotton candy taste we all know and love! You won’t believe it’s made with real fruit and ice cream, and nothing else. The subtle green colour they combine to create is refreshing just to behold. This is our first limited-run, special edition, get-‘em-while we’ve-got-‘em ice cream pint. $20 each while supplies last!

Each .icecream.kitsilano ice cream is a uniquely custom creation, swirled to order just for you!
The consistency will sometimes vary, depending on which ice cream base and fruits you choose. All of our real fruit ice cream gets blended in and swirled through the same machine, so we ask that customers with food sensitivities let us know upon ordering whether they need the mixing cone and auger changed out. As well, we ask that customers with any objection to a bit of the last fruit & ice cream making it into theirs, to request a change-out. We’ll happily oblige, no questions asked!

We just want everyone’s ice cream to be the best they’ve ever had 🍦 …and if you’ve had our ice cream and know it’s the best, we humbly request that you put it in a Google review! We’ve received a few rough ratings, much of them due to circumstances beyond our control, like we keep running out of things because we’re swirling it faster than our suppliers can supply it! Hype is a double-edged sword, my friends. Online, it’s a numbers game and it takes an army of appreciators to balance the scales after just one detractor brings down our entire average. It isn’t ideal, but that’s showbiz, baby!

Today marks one month in business for our Killer team! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone that’s given us the opportunity to swirl our real fruit ice cream for them. Here’s to many more!

and the kick-off day for Vancouver Ice Cream Fest 2024! 🍦

We’re so excited to be a part of this exciting summer-long festival along with the rest of the city’s top ice cream destinations, each offering special festival ice cream creations for the occasion!

Nods to the magnificence of our namesake killer whale can be found reflected all around our shop, but nowhere is our love, reverence, and hope for the future of one orca in particular, captured more boldly than in this mural we just completed.

Bring Corky Home - that’s the mission! She was captured off the Sunshine Coast in 1969 as a four-year-old calf, and she’s been performing for her supper every day since. She’s a gentle, well-behaved girl and a favourite at which has owned her for the last several decades, giving her the best care possible….within the confines of a tank. We believe the time has come, and it’s only right, for SeaWorld to agree to start making preparations to relocate her to a seaside retirement facility where she can live out her days in her natural habitat in the Pacific Northwest.

It’s not the time to be adversarial or angry towards her keepers; it’s the time to think collaboratively because moving an 8500-pound killer whale from California to Hanson Island, BC is going to take a massive cooperative effort, every inch of the way. She’s getting up there in years and while concern has been expressed that she might not be fit for the journey, we see that as all the more reason to move forward with plans to move her so she can be rehabilitated without further delay, and not left to languish in the unnatural environment that’s been her home sweet prison for so long. After all, it’s been noted but we’ll say it again - anyone who entered the workforce in 1969 is either retired or dead by now. This beautiful girl has earned her freedom, and it’s time for everyone who has benefitted from her trainable personality and non-aggressive nature to pony up and make this happen by any means necessary!

We’re just a poppin’ new ice cream spot in Vancouver, but we’re aligned with this mission and have pledged to help however we can. You can donate to directly or through in-store purchases like our Killer tote bags and our sundaes that pledge 10% of all sales to Corky, starting this Friday and happening all summer long!

We can make a huge difference in the life of one orca. So let’s make a splash 💦

Just three days left until kicks off!

From June 21st until August 5th, we’ll be participating as vendors in the summer’s coolest cross-city food fest organized by where you’ll be able to visit all of Vancouver’s best ice cream spots and try our their special edition festival offerings, while supplies last!

This is our first summer in business and our first summer in the festival, so you know we had to create some extra special sundaes for the occasion: presenting the Strawberry Basil Shortcake Sundae, and the Banana Cream Pie Sundae! 🍓🍰🍌

Each sundae is swirled with your choice of dairy or vegan non-dairy ice cream base. We love adding a refreshing hit of basil with our sweet strawberry blend but you can sub it out for mint if that’a more your flavour profile, or simply have it as a strawberry shortcake sundae! As always, each ice cream we serve is a custom creation, swirled to order just for you.

Both will be available for the duration of the festival, and both represent a Killer collab with two of our favourite local Vancouver small-batch snacks & goodies brands. and .yvr 🤍

Festival participants will be able to pick up their passports at any participating vendor and go around to all their favourite shops and parlours trying out whichever festival offerings grab their interest, collecting stamps as they go. Stamped passports will be entered in the sweepstakes for some tasty prizes! You can try many different ice cream experiences, or you can be a repeat offender at your favourite local spot - there’s no limit to how many ice creams you can eat and how many stamps you can collect or passports you can fill! The more the merrier, and the greater your chance of winning 🍦

Made from 100% organic cotton, these breezy tote bags hold all your things in style, while benefitting a most extraordinary cause - helping to build Double Bay Sanctuary, an orca sanctuary on Hanson Island BC being built to accommodate Corky the Orca’s future retirement in the cool ocean waters from which she was captured in 1969.

10% of sales on all Killer Ice Cream merch will be going towards this incredible undertaking, which we’re so excited to contribute to. We’re living for the day that Sea World SanDiego will release her into the sanctuary’s care to live out the rest of her days in the beautiful ocean home that she hasn’t felt or tasted in over five decades of performing for her dinner and living day in, day out in a concrete tank under the hot Southern California sun so far from her natural habitat.
