If any of my Facebook friends are interested.
Tomorrow (Monday) before the Canucks game 7, CBC Radio have invited me back to talk some Hockey with them about 4pm.

I will be chatting with Amy Bell from On The Coast radio show.
I last chatted with her about the Canucks in late September, just before the NHL season was about to start.

Go Canucks Go 🏒🥅

I attended my old bike racing teammate and friend Andrew Hansen celebration of life on this past Sunday at Deep Cove Yacht Club. I had asked Andy to join a team I was helping to put together in early 1981, which would be his 1st bike racing team.....He later went on to become BC Champion and Canadian Road Race Champion, so I guess I can spot quality.

Lot's of people there, but surprising only a couple of old good racers stepped up to speak......we even had a old National Team coach there that I thought would speak, But didn't. I figured I had better get up then and say a few words about Andy The Hammer Hansen... I was unprepared and just winged it, but happy with the response I got.

Brent Mudry one of the racers that spoke told a story about the old Whistler Road Race we used to have, and while listening to his story I was thinking that's not how the start of the race went, so I went digging and found my old scrap book from those days and found some old clippings and stuff, so I thought I would share with Y'all.

Prior to the race start, I was concerned about the large field of racers and the narrow Squamish highway, so I went to many of the top riders to voice my concerns, telling them I would be warmed up at races start, and I was going to break the field up before we hit the Squamish Hwy. I set a blistering pace, and you can see me at the front of the peloton leading the pack, and I wrote on photo many years ago who my teammates were and the winner Paul.

By the time we got to the start of the Squamish Hwy, 5 of us had a nice big gap on the field and they never caught our 5 man breakaway. Paul Tettamanti, Bob McWhinnie, some American and Joel Sagard

I did too much work at the start and paid for it as we approached Whistler, as I was really suffering and just barely held on to our group as we got to the top of Alta Lake hill on the backside of Whistler, and when we came back towards towncenter and the Whistler Village gate, my legs went like rubber bands. I remember a kid on a 1 speed BMX bike passing me up the final climb to the top of BlackComb parking lot, but I was determined to finish and passed out right after the finish line. I recovered and finished 7th overall for the 3 races that weekend.

The other photo is of the 1982 Gastown Grand Prix (1983 program) and you can see me kinda near the front....left side in Red Jersey with white and black strips getting ready for the corner....Andy is a few riders to my right (blue helmet), and I finished in 13th place. The newspaper clipping is from the 1983 Gastown Grand Prix where I finished in 16th place.

Not bad for a street kid from Kits with no family support.

8 Most Beautiful Princesses and Queens in History In the past, some women left their mark on history for such beauty that it shook the hearts of powerful men. And although some argue that beauty is not everything, it certainly helps to open up paths never traveled before.
