Office Assistant/Receptionist

We are a large and busy Roofing Company, locally owned and operated for over 50 years. Our offices are located near SE Marine Drive and Knight Street in Vancouver. We are less than 750 meters from transit and have on-site parking if you drive. This is a dog-friendly office, and we have a few!

We are looking for an experienced office assistant to join our great team and to manage the reception desk. You must have a minimum of one year of experience in reception and accounts receivable. It is a great asset if you have experience dealing with property managers, commercial and residential stratas, and if you have knowledge of the roofing industry and terminology, and other construction-related items.
Knowledge of the lower mainland, its cities, and areas, is a must.

We are approaching our busy season and need someone who is a team player and a quick learner.
This is an immediate opening and is a full-time position, with set hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. There are no evening or weekend shifts, and we are closed on all statutory holidays.

You must live in the lower mainland today to apply for this position.

Requirements to apply include but are not limited to:
• Solid communication in English is a must, both written and spoken, including proper grammar
• Clear and polite phone manners, ability to listen well
• You must have strong computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office
• Assist the Billing department with populating reports using Canva
• You must have experience with QuickBooks
• You must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks each day, as well as work alone when needed
• Receive direction well and not be afraid to ask questions

Your Duties include:
• Reception - which includes answering phones on a multi-line switchboard, taking messages, directing calls, and greeting clients
• Assisting with the Dispatch of work crews
• Creating Estimates and Work orders in QuickBooks, supporting Estimators with Project requirements
• Tracking POs and posting invoices
• Job Costing / Metal tracking
• Entering/transferring all data into our Roofing software program
• Maintaining office supplies and function
