The Student Engagement and Development team at the Sauder Undergraduate Office is looking for two eager and passionate students to join the team! We are hiring for the Spark Orientation Coordinator and the Orientation Leader Coordinator roles (paid student staff positions). 😆

✨ The 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 plays a vital role in the planning and ex*****on of The Spark. They will hire The Spark executive team and will work towards instilling a sense of belonging for current and incoming students at the UBC Sauder School of Business.

✨ 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 plays a vital role in the planning and ex*****on of Imagine UBC. They will hire, support, and train our Orientation Leaders for Imagine Day and The Spark.

The Spark would have a lot of trouble staying afloat if it weren’t for our incredible volunteers. Thank you, volunteers, for your help in such a crucial part of the event. No matter where you volunteered, from working on light controls during opening and closing ceremonies to managing the game stations, you all were willing to go above and beyond in your role. We are so grateful for each and every one of you! ⚡️ ✨

A few weeks ago we welcomed 600+ new students to Sauder, and it wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing Orientation Leaders! Thank you so much for your commitment and dedication to making sure your group of students felt like they belonged here at Sauder. Hopefully, you have a few new friendly faces to say hi to in the halls and can even offer some guidance and mentorship to in the future.

The Spark is a two-day orientation event (𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟏𝟎𝐭𝐡) specifically for Sauder students, and we’re so excited to welcome this year’s incoming 𝐁𝐂𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐.

Our theme this year is 🐋𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚🐋! 80% of the ocean is unmapped, unobserved, and unexplored just like the opportunities that await you during your time here at Sauder. Whether you’re going for a swim with the fish, watching the sunset on the beach, or even going whale watching, ocean life is a highlight to BC’s lifestyle. 🌊

At The Spark, you will be able to bond with your classmates and form connections with upper year students. Get ready for two days packed with fun activities, delicious food, Sauder branded SWAG, and a lifetime of memories!
