Shower controls should be accessible from both inside and outside the spray of water. Optimal placement area for shower controls is between 38 inches to 48 inches above the floor, and reachable by a person standing outside the shower, such as a caregiver, as well as by a person seated inside the shower. A pressure and temperature regulator valve will prevent scald burns with children and those physically impaired.
