CH 2 - EP1 - Tire Change Over, The complete process - New Episode Uploaded!
A few clients have asked, "why does changing tires take so long?" We wanted to show everyone EA's process of tire change over. The video demonstrates the process from washing the wheels, to removing the old wheel weights, and removing the glue that was left over by the weights. Most shops will NOT remove the old glue completely, and just use an old rag and brake clean that spot. Every rim has EA's attention to detail by making sure to follow strict procedures to ensure top quality installation.
This is why it can take up to 2 1/2 hrs to complete a tire change over on any vehicle.
The technician will torque the wheels and record on the work order, the torque value and the tire dates, along with tire pressures specs from manufacturer. Finally A road test is required to ensure balancing is correct and also if equipped with tire pressure sensors, they are calibrated correctly.
Once completed, the vehicle will receive a bath and then back in the clients hands.
