Red Maple Coaching & Consulting
Developing the Person Behind the Professional
Happy Pride Month!
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
🌈
Take the leap!
Join us for our “Foundations of Professional Coaching” course by taking that first step towards becoming a certified coach.
Our students, graduates, and instructors are just like you - individuals who are interested in people development and human services; those who want to make positive impacts in the lives of others by bringing out their highest potential.
Registration is open for this online class, which counts as over 30yrs of coach education towards ICF certification.
We couldn’t be more grateful for our coaching instructors who have put in some serious hours facilitating these past few weeks.
Upon review of the feedback received by students in our coach training program, we noticed some common themes about our faculty:
*they create judgment-free & safe learning spaces
*they are open, warm & accepting
*they are engaged, sincere, playful & have senses of humour
*they help to increase awareness & offer inspiration
We are going into this weekend feeling a great sense of pride and satisfaction - we will rest before the next round of facilitation!
What are you permitting yourself to feel satisfaction over?
Dr. Arielle Schwartz’s model is a game changer for high-achievers who often skip over the ‘satisfaction’ and ‘relaxation’ phases of a workflow.
Leaders, teams and organizations who want better performance, profitability and possibilities are implementing this sustainable and sensitive work cycle because it supports the PERSON behind the professional.
How does a healthy corporate culture that supports wellbeing and wellness help you as a high-achieving worker?
Over the past couple of days, the coaches from Red Maple Coaching & Consulting have been gathering at our annual instructor retreat for ADLER Graduate Professional School’s accredited coaching training program 😊
We’ve been discussing where coaching is going, defining our vision for the future with more community-building opportunities, and coaching each other on how to get there … can’t wait to share more of what we’ve got in the works 🤗
What ideas do you have around community gatherings for students, faculty, graduates, coaches, and mentors? 🤔
“Soft skills” are at the cutting-edge of best business practices in the post-pandemic era.
Strengths like communication, critical thinking, conflict management, emotional intelligence, active listening, collaborative teamwork, conscious leadership, and person-focused coaching lead to successful outcomes not only for the workplaces that practice these skills, but for the people who work for such organizations - staff are less burnt out, more engaged, and perform better.
Join the evolution. Contact us today to see how we can support your team in connecting with each other as professionals AND as people.
Thank you to the OAMHP for hosting “The Evolution of Practice” event last week - Red Maple Coaching & Consulting’s own Raechel Pefanis was honoured to be a guest panelist.

A round of applause for Begum Verjee & Kara Jessie Steyaert who were just awarded their Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designations from the International Coaching Federation (ICF) 👏
They modelled humility, resiliency and unwavering determination through the entire process, and our team could not be happier or more proud 🥹
Please join us in congratulating our teammates on their achievements to the next level of coaching certification 🎉
Dwight is right 🤣 Keep the coaching conversations going out there in the world!
At its core, coaching is a communication style that is different from our common ways of conversing.
What’s one of your favourite things about coaching conversations?

Clinical Supervision can be complex, but the OAMHP believes that you don’t have to try and understand it alone.
Red Maple Coaching & Consulting feels the same way, and that’s why our very own Raechel Pefanis will be a guest panelist at “Supervision: The Evolution of Practice.”
Join us and hundreds of other students, RPs, RSWs, supervisees, and supervisors - this live event is a learning experience where mental health professionals in all stages can connect and learn from each other.
Anyone else need a dose of Lasso lessons to close out their work week on a good note?
*believe in yourself
*winning is an attitude
*happiness is a choice
*optimists do more
*tell the truth
*stay teachable
*vulnerability is a strength
*courage is about being willing to try
*doing the right thing is never the wrong thing
*see the good in others
Honourable mention goes to “all people are different people” 🤣🤔

Just a regular ol’ Friday at the office where the great pen debate of 2023 is taking place ✍️
All of this nonsense from a gigantic bulk order that went awry - so much so that we’re considering changing our company tag line 🤣
Top picks include:
*No need to be pensive about your leadership.
*We will get you on the write track.
*Have an inkling that you’re not tapping into your full potential?
Let’s drag this out for way too long!

Are YOU ready for your transformational journey?
There’s another round of students who are AND you could be next 😊
Let’s give it up for this next cohort of students who said YES to becoming agents of change and are starting their coach training with us today!
Kathy Turnbull-Sauve what are you looking forward to most with the group of students who you’ll be mentoring?
Last week, team training day for the Red Maple instructors who teach Adler’s coaching program looked like sharing our experiences of privilege, power, marginalization, exploitation, and oppression.
Begum Verjee lead us in listening to each other’s stories, which helped team members better understand how our different social locations shape our realities, perspectives, and the construction of knowledge.
What you think is THE problem is rarely the REAL problem.
We asked one of our coaches Kara Jessie Steyaert for her hot tip on this:
“Questions like, ‘what’s the real challenge here’ as well as ‘and what else’ are helpful to ask after someone has unloaded because they open up space and dig deeper into why something is perceived as problematic - it’s all in the perspective 👍
Write that down: agents of change support others in breaking through the surface of their lives into the depths of meaning-making.
How do you conversationally break through the surface?
Celebrating themes of liberation, resurrection, renewal, forgiveness and joy!
Spring 2023 and the month of April marks Passover, Easter and Ramadan - a time to re-connect with ourselves, each other and our faith whether it be in religious form, spirituality, universal beliefs, with nature or otherwise.
May we find meaningful moments of connection through prayer, meditation and/or reflection 💜
Congrats to another cohort of our students who just embarked on their coach training journeys & to a number of our graduates who recently received their certified coach designations 👏
Here’s what students, graduates & instructors say about what it takes to be an effective & impactful coach:
*SELF-REFLECTION
*FEEDBACK & MENTORING
*PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE
Type “practice” in the comments if you’re looking for more info on our accredited coach training program👍

We’re big fans of The Table Group and we use their Working Genius model ALL the time - it’s one of our favourite strengths assessment tools for individuals, teams & leaders.

If each cell in our whole entire body changes every 7 years, then maybe it makes a lot of sense if you’re feeling lost - after all, a rediscovery is taking place.
It’s okay to feel lost & you are not alone; it is very common to go through seasons of change & you may need time to get acquainted with the different versions of you, different needs, different wants.
Coaching can help by talking out tough challenges, setting some goals, and rediscovering your path.
Spring is here 🌷
Where do you go outside to connect with your WHOLE self and just BE?
We asked many of our clients this question and here’s some of their answers:
*walking near the water
*hiking in a forest
*gardening
*playing on the golf course
*practicing Tai Chi at the park
*reading under a tree
What would you add to this list?
Comment below and tag a friend or family member who’s looking for some outdoor ideas 🧐
When it comes to sustainability and decolonization, how is your team committing to working together to collectively create a more juste, equitable, diverse and inclusive organization?
Coaching can help because it:
*taps into group wisdom
*opens up space
*provokes new insights
*mines for depth in the room
*checks for social locations and biases
*tips us over into self-reflection, higher awareness and critical action
Check out a great article on this topic (link in comments).
Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️
We’re excited for the next cohort of newbies who will be joining us for coach training & education in a couple of weeks 🤗
