Lisa Gu, Divorce Coach
"Help navigate your transformation journey with clarity and confidence."
It’s been an emotional week, wrapping up another soul-inspired and aligned coaching season with
He’s heading to Spain with his family for a year 🇪🇸, and I’m on my way to Bali for a month-long solo trip 🌴.
We reflected on the challenges before embarking on a quest of this sort—kids, family, business...
How the WORK is always RIGHT in front of us.
I mentioned that my kids would be staying with their grandparents for 10 days in another city before school starts.
Dave asked me, "How are you welcoming the kids home when you’re not home?"
Wow, did that get me thinking! 🤔
So, amid all the chaos before my trip, I took the time to write letters and wrap gifts for my kids 🎁.
I can't wait to hear their reactions when they see them. ❤️
Bon voyage, Dave ✈️.
P.S. Yes, I wrapped my daughter's gifts in a diaper bag—just because... 😄
When I first started lifting weights two months ago, I could only manage 2.5 pounds. Slowly but surely, I worked my way up to 5 pounds, and now I’m at 10. 💪🏻
Sure, it might seem laughable to serious weightlifters, but who cares?
It’s my workout, my progress!
Just like your divorce journey—don’t let Uncle Dave or your friend Laura tell you how it should go.
Celebrate your progress, no matter how small. 🌟
After all, it’s your divorce!
It’s 8 a.m., and I’ve already finished my workout, filled the gas tank, and scheduled this post. 🚀
As a single mom with full custody, a full-time job, and a growing business, people often ask how I do it all.
The answer is simple.
I frontload my day.
I tackle the most important tasks first thing in the morning. My self-care routine: working out, yoga, meditation, learning, and planning—all before the day even starts. 🌅
After dropping the kids off, I dive into deep work.
And I wrap up work around 4 p.m. so I can be fully present with my kids’ extra curriculum activities and spend quality time at night. 🧸
Frontloading my day has been a game-changer. It’s helped me create a ritual, build discipline, and most importantly, prioritize myself so I can give to others from a place of fullness.
I’m not always perfect. But when I follow through, like today, my mind expands, and I’m ready to tackle anything that comes my way. This is how we gain clarity. 💡
Frontloading is a simple practice, but like any ritual, it’s not easy.
This November, we’re diving deep into building rituals and healthy habits in my divorce reinvention group coaching program, "Chaos to Clarity."
Don’t have a ritual yet? Or struggling to stick to one? Ready to achieve your vision and accelerate your growth? 🌱

As I continue to learn and practice self-love (a big a-ha moment I had after turning 40), I realize there is still so much pain within me that I need to let go of. This pain resides in the 7-year-old Lisa, whom I’ve been conversing with a lot lately.

🕙 Time: 10:00 - 10:30 a.m.
💻 Platform: Zoom
A client just cancelled their coaching session on Saturday, so I’m offering it to ONE PERSON going through a divorce for free. The goal is simple: to help you focus on your right next step. 👣
Divorce can feel isolating and overwhelming. If you’re in the middle of your divorce journey and need support and clarity, please DM me or leave a comment below to get in touch. 💗
Feel free to forward this to anyone you know who might benefit from this session. 🌟
Infidelity—the Killer of Many Marriages 💔
This one is hard for me to write about. After finding out my ex had been cheating on me, I was in complete shock. It was extremely difficult as I was pregnant with our second child at the time.
I read every book I could to try to understand until I realized I could never fully grasp why he did it.
That’s why I am incredibly grateful for my friend Jeff, who opened up about his affair and his journey from infidelity to inner peace in this episode of Untying The Knot🎙️.
Please share this episode with anyone who might find it helpful. Our hope is that by sharing Jeff's story so openly, we can support someone struggling right now, no matter where they stand on the infidelity spectrum. 🙏🏻

Many people walk into a divorce, not knowing what they want. Myself included. I get it, divorce is highly emotional. But whether you left, were left, or mutually agreed to part ways, defining your goals for this big life transition is key.
Divorce is part business, and like any project, you need clear goals. Make sure you take time to:
➡️ Identify Priorities: What matters most—custody, finances, assets? Know what you can't compromise on.
➡️ Compromise Smartly: Flexibility in some areas can lead to a better overall agreement.
If it is too much for you. Get professional help to do this with you. Because you don't have to walk alone.
I help my clients identify their non-negotiables from the start and dive deeper into goal setting in my "Chaos to Clarity" coaching program to keep you on track.

Reflecting on my divorce, one of the biggest mistakes in my marriage was our lack of a shared vision. 🖼️
Caught in the daily grind, we never checked in with each other. Then one day, kaboom. 💔
Would frequent check-ins have saved my marriage? Maybe, maybe not. But things wouldn’t have collapsed so suddenly.
This weekend, as I finished reading my coach 's book Chief Family Officer, a wave of emotions hit me.
The truth is, I would have done anything to save my marriage and our little family. Because we were worth saving. 💖
I wish I knew then what I know now. I wish I hadn't taken my ex or our family for granted while chasing “success”—career, business, money... 💼
But I’m proud of being a Chief Family Officer, leading my kids as a single mom with curiosity, empathy, clarity, and love.
I’m far from perfect, but I’m learning, reflecting, and sitting with the discomfort.
Grateful to Dave for reminding me of what’s most important: MY FAMILY! 👨👩👧👦
Don’t make my mistake. Pick up this book, get clear on the family you want to build, and check in with yourself and your partner to ALIGN. Your family is worth it. 💞

In the past 4 years, every time my heart ached, I turned to journaling. 📓
I poured my heart out onto these pages:
➡️seeking advice from my 90-year-old self
➡️mapping out my next step
➡️or simply comforting the 9-year-old Lisa, who feels unseen or unloved.
😭I cried, sighed, giggled, and laughed as I scribbled.😆
Journaling healed me. Now, I use journaling prompts in my coaching to help my clients heal too. ✨
Stay strong. 💪🏻 This, too, shall pass. 🍃To healing. ❤️
Dedicating this little poem to all the amazing moms out there. I see you!
I wrote a blog, "Reconcile with My Mom", check the link in my bio or comment MOM. I will send the link to you.
Like water, you flow,
Like soil, you nurture and grow,
Like light, you shine, a radiant glow.
You push little humans out, so brave,
You comfort them when they crave,
You support your partner, strong and grave.
Leader of your family, steadfast and true,
Boss of your business, in all you do,
Rock of your team, guiding through.
Whatever life throws, you reform,
You reshape in every storm.
Whatever it takes, you make it work,
With resilience, you never shirk.
To all the mothers and motherly figures, hear me out,
I see your love, beyond any doubt,
I celebrate you, with a joyful shout.
Because you're freaking amazing, it's true,
In all you do, I salute you!

Ksenia has personally guided me through 3 hypnotherapy sessions. 🧠 Each session, we went deep, and in the middle of our third session, I had this huge lightning bolt that shook my entire being and gave me so much clarity on a dilemma I’ve been contemplating for 6 months. ⚡

I found myself doing 90% of the chores in our marriage. Whenever the other side didn’t want to do something, I picked it up. Then I picked up more and more and more. I bent myself figuratively and psychologically.
Like a flower desperately needing water, I withered. 🥀
My light was dimmed. 🕯️
My marriage was not 2, it was less than 1. Never again!
With all the work I’ve been doing, I am radiating my light again. I found ME again! Right now, just by myself, 1=10.
I did it. You can do it, too!
Comment "NEVER AGAIN" below to learn more about how I got here!
I recently went to my mechanics to change the winter tires, and as my Mom and I lifted those tires to my trunk, I felt a familiar pang.
Four years ago, I lifted those same tires with my Mom when I was six months pregnant during COVID. My ex had left and never showed up to help.
His abandonment cut me open and stabbed my heart. I was hurt and devastated. And I doubted if I can do it.
Fast forward four years, and here I am facing the same scenario. I acknowledged my trigger in my mind's eye; that’s it. I had a 5-second conversation with myself: “Okay. You still felt something. That’s okay.”
I am incredibly proud of the work I’ve been doing. I’ve been intentionally training myself to deal with these triggers. Like building muscle by lifting weights, I build my mental muscle bit by bit, so these triggers barely have any power over me now.
Those triggers are damn hard. Find time and space to honour them. Slowly, it will get better.
Stay the course, my friend. You’re more powerful than you think. 💪🏻
🙎🏻♀️I lost myself playing the role of “wife”. Totally unaware.
☎️My divorce is an awakening call.
🧘🏻♀️My divorce healing journey is about finding me again.
We dive into the concept of “Self” in my divorce transformation group coaching program “Chaos-to-Clarity”.

If you know someone feeling stuck in their divorce, please share. 🙏
As hard as my divorce was, it forced me to be alone. I remember the night my ex moved out, I kept the bathroom light on because I was soooooo scared.
Then slowly, it became my new norm. And for the first time in a long time, I had the precious opportunity to be with ME, alone.
Even with two young kids full time, I had time to connect with ME. Journaling, meditating, reading...and a lot of times crying...😭
These moments of solitude cleared my head and propelled my healing and growth. And I am grateful.
Today, I am so intentional with carving out time for solitude. I encourage my clients, men or women, to have "me" time too.
So is divorce a loss? Absolutely. The hardest kind since in most divorces, the person you grieve over is still alive. But everything has two sides.
What do we "gain" through divorce? It is all about perspectives.
💕
Call it silent treatment or stonewalling. Let's face it, it’s incredibly tough to be on the receiving end of that silence or wall, especially from someone you loved and shared your life with. So damn tough.
In one of my ReNu Guest group coaching session, Psychotherapist joined me to chat about why someone stonewalls and what you can do or maybe not do.
Valentine’s Day can be tough, especially when going through a separation or divorce.
You may feel a huge sense of loss for that person you used to call Valentine.
You may feel sorry for yourself to be alone on this day.
Or sad, mad, disappointed…whatever you’re feeling now, let yourself feel it.
It's okay. Give yourself permission to feel, and don’t expect much out of yourself today.
Throw your to-do list away.
Indulge in some guilty pleasure. Today is the day. Eat some junk food, binge-watch some Netflix…, and do whatever please YOU!
You are not alone in this at all.
Remember, you are deeply supported and loved today and every day!
Make this day about YOU!
