We have decided to start looking for foster homes for our dogs that are ready for adoption. This is the only way we can take in more dogs in desperate need of rehabilitation and training.
We can only accept experienced dog handlers due to our dogs having behavior issues.
Foster Program
You can change the life of an animal in need by becoming a foster volunteer and opening your home and heart to a foster friend.
Is fostering right for you? There are many things to consider when deciding to foster an animal.
Foster caregivers must:
Be at least 18 years old
Attend required training
Have access to transportation
Complete a foster care application and sign a foster care agreement
Be able to set aside time (as often as every two weeks) to bring your foster animal in for follow-up vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery
Take on the responsibility for routine care in your home during the foster period
Ensure that animals can be fostered in your home
Isolate foster animals from family pets within the home, as required
Dog-proof your home to reduce potential safety hazards
Maintain a peaceful, loving environment for the foster animals and spend quality time socializing them
Utilize the emergency contact number for after-hour emergencies
Maintain communication with the Foster Program Coordinator
Commit to the entire foster period with the animal
Try to spend a minimum of two hours per day with kittens to socialize them and monitor their health (time commitments will vary depending on your foster animals). For socialization and enrichment ideas visit shelterhealthpro.com.
Existing animals in your home must be up-to-date on vaccines and in good health
Every family member in the household will need to be prepared for the commitment and emotions involved with fostering.
If you feel you can give a dog the necessary help and care it needs, please contact us directly for an application.
Only those selected will be contacted.

Tanner AKA Tan Man!
Bloodhound mix
2 years old
Dogs: Yes Friendly
Cats: No
Kids: Yes but older kids, we suggest over 10 years old. Due to his size.
Energy Level: Low to Medium energy
Neutered: Yes
Vaccinations: Up to Date
Available: Adoption
Tanner is one old and soulful dude with a demeanor that is so loving and warm. Tanner enjoys a good walk, car rides and a comfy bed to lay his head on. He’s super easy going and friendly with all people and dogs. Tanner plays well with other dogs but we strongly recommend no toys are present as he has resource guarding issues. This goofy boy is so much fun! Tanner loves to play with his toys and do nose work to find tasty treats!
Tanner would do best in a home where he has his own comfy space with his toys and a designated feeding area to control his resource guarding, we strongly recommendbeing crated during feedings and as well when human food is around. In time and with trust, he will be very attached to his people. He is low energy and is looking for a calm lifestyle where he can take unlimited naps and bask in the sun. Tanner is the perfect farm/ country dog and really loves the country life. Especially since he lives up to the hound vocalizations. Our boy is a howler!

Who We Are
Our Roots
Here at Fight Against Breed Racism, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2020, we have been determined to make an impact.
Meet the inspiration for starting this. Jax the man! Jax came into our lives October 2020 and from the moment our eyes met, we knew we were in love. And that's when the journey really began.
Jax has the power to show the world how loyal, loving, sweet, funny and family oriented his breed is. How pitbulls hearts and souls are so full of love and life. We look at him and see his power to heal people, because he's healed us. His power to make a significant change in the pitbull community. And not just in our community but all communities.
isn't just a slogan or a campaign to us. It's our life's mission. Our gift to Jax, for coming into our lives and changing everything for the better. It's our crusade as a team to protect Jax and every pitbull out there living in fear. Every pitbull guardian never knowing if the next knock at the door will be the one that gets their beloved pit taking away. No, is a statement. And a damn powerful one. And we have the best guy to help us with that, Jax.
If all human lives matter, then all dog breeds matter. You may say well, human lives are far more important. And to be honest someone who says that, isn't a dog person. Or have felt the loyalty and love a dog brings. But my fellow dog people, we know you understand and we know you see how important all dogs are and all breeds need to be safe. Not matter size, body type, color or stigma out there. Dogs came to us in hopes of partnership. As companions and as protectors. Isn't it fair we do the same for them? Isn't it our duty after centuries and decades of loyalty we give something back to them?!
We say, it's far over due. With Jax by our side, helping us save, socialize and train his fellow commorades, we know we can make a significant change and difference in the lives of these feared, mistreated and misunderstood dogs.
"Pitbull" type breeds are one of the most misunderstood, feared and mistreated breeds in North America. As well as dominant and so called aggressive breeds. Thousands in our very own home of Ontario alone are euthanized, seized, dumped and surrendered. And at FABR we want to change that starting today, with you!
We strive to rescue "pitbull" types, bully types, large and extra large dogs to rehabilitate, train, care for them and find them their forever homes. And we do travel out of province to bring them to safe provinces that do not hold a BSL ban, when needed. Every dog deserves a chance at life. A chance to be loved and have a family. Here at FABR we make that happen.
With fosters, volunteers and help from the community, we help and specialize in providing dogs with a safe place to be. A place for them to be the best they can be without judgment.
Once we take in a dog, our team starts assessments and planning what the dog needs are base on the dogs behaviors, personality and history (if we are giving any info of course). From there our team works with each dog individually to help them become ready to find their forever homes. We work hard to ensure our dogs have all the fundamentals needed in life and behavior wise to be successful in their new homes. With daily exercise, training, socialization and lots of play time.
Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.
