THE DOCKS | Hey, , we value safety and enjoyment in our public spaces, and we know you do too!

With summer upon us and many of you heading to The Docks at Rotary Park of Welland, please remember that parking your vehicles on the grass is not permitted.

We’d also like to remind you that operating personal motorized boats in the canal is not permitted. If you do see motorized watercraft on the canal, there are a few exceptions that may be in play, such as activities previously approved by the City due to maintenance, training, flatwater sport coaching, or to address safety reasons.

We’re not trying to be a downer; this is to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the area for everyone.

Our recreation ambassadors are trained to keep a diligent eye to make sure everyone is following the rules and will take action, when necessary, but if you happen witness these activities, please call the City’s bylaw department at 905-735-1700 x3000.

UPDATE MAPLE PARK POOL | Hey, , the maintenance work at Maple Park pool will continue past 3 p.m. today and the facility will remain closed through this evening. We’ll let you know when it’s open and ready for a swim.

MAPLE PARK POOL MAINTENANCE | Hey, , a friendly reminder that the pool at Maple Park will be temporarily closed for maintenance between noon and 3 p.m. today. You can still cool off with a dip and a splash at Rosie Smith Memorial pool.

We are looking for volunteers for two upcoming waterway events. Row Ontario Provincial Championships on July 20 - 21 and Can American Club Crew Championships on July 25 – 28.

Supper Market Cancellation ⛈

Due to upcoming heavy rainfall forecasts, we will be canceling our Supper Market tomorrow night, Wednesday July 10 at Market Square. We apologize for any inconvenience but will see you next Wednesday!

Positions include boat holding, boat driving, athlete check in, dock assistants and more. WELLAND WATERWAY ACTIVITY | Hey, , please be aware that Niagara Region will be completing some testing on the waterway in front of the treatment plant near Merritt Island on July 8 and 9.

This means that motorized boats will be launching from The Docks at Rotary Park of Welland and operating on the canal between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. You can expect to see a pontoon and aluminum boat moving about the waterway.
