CRS Specialties Ltd., the North American Rep for MEP Spa in 2002 was turned over to Yvon Houde to become President and Mike Corriveau Vice President as Gil Corriveau decided to take his retirement after 34 years in the industry. In 2006 Yvon Houde decided to take early retirement, which left Mike Corriveau to become sole owner along with his wife. Gil is still active with the company to this day.
CRS Equipment Ltd., a division of Corriveau Rebar Services & Equipment was incorporated in June 1992. Gil Corriveau and Yvon Houde decided at that time to leave their respected positions at MEP Canada to form their own servicing company, specializing in servicing reinforcing steel bending equipment. Gil had been the Sales & Service Manager of MEP Canada since 1975 while Yvon was the parts and service representative since 1984 specializing in fabrication of equipment. In August 1994 we were approached by MEP SpA of Italy to take over their representation in the North American market. With our vast knowledge of MEP equipment we thought this to be an interesting proposal. Since MEP SpA is the world leader in the fabrication of reinforcing steel bending equipment with over 3000 machines in production worldwide and a support staff of 150 employees, we thought this to be an extension or arm as you say to our service and technical capabilities, thus our reunion with MEP SpA. Since this time, CRS Specialties Ltd. has grown from Mike to a staff of 10 employees now fabricating and importing steel bending equipment. In our shop, we now produce Table Benders, Radius Machines, Spiral Machine, Shearline and other custom fabrications to suit each individual clients needs. Retrofitting and refurbishing existing machines remains a primary source of our service with the first machine sold in North America back in 1976 still in operation today in Quebec, Canada. CRS carries a complete line of inventory available for next day delivery in most cases to try and eliminate downtime. Technical service is usually provided over the phone free of charge with the rare possibility of a field visit. CRS is committed to service and we do whatever is necessary to provide this service to our customers.
