Interested in learning about maritime careers and touring a Navy ship? There will be a maritime career fair and tour of naval warship HMCS Goose Bay on September 28 from 10am-12pm. It will be located in the Old Port of Montreal (exact address will be shared before the event.) To participate, sign up here before September 9, 2024. Spots are limited and will be allocated first come first served. Uniform is FTUs. Only returning cadets are allowed to sign up for this activity, no new cadets.

Throwback to the 2023 Annual Ceremonial Review

9 of our cadets joined the RMR team at the Canada Army Run today. It's a chance for Canadians and the Canadian Armed Forces – Air Force, Army, and Navy – to join together in the spirit of camaraderie and community, as well as a chance for the troops to extend the military esprit de corps to Canadians and to thank them for their support.

Reminder: Our weekly cadet training will resume on Wednesday, September 13th at 6.30pm for returning cadets. New cadet registration will begin the following week on September 20th. More info to come. Stay tuned!

Heads up!

We're well into the summer and several of our cadets are currently at camp. We're proud to share with you this photo of 2 of our cadets who have received awards at the Level 2 Cadet Activity Program (CAP). Olivia Zhu was awarded Best Athlete and Ethan Zhu was awarded Cadet of the week! Congratulations on your achievements !

The squadron is currently closed for the summer. Our first training night for returning cadets will be on September 13th, while new cadet registration will start on September 20th. Stay tuned for more info.

1 West Newsletter | May 3rd, 2023 The cadets of 1 West will participate in a field training exercise during the weekend of May 5th, 6th, and 7th. This exercise is part of the mandatory training program and aims to teach the basics of aircrew survival to the cadets.

Today, 31 of our cadets participated in the RMR Cadet Appreciation Day organized by the Royal Montreal Regiment, which 1 West is affiliated with since its foundation. They had the opportunity to visit stations showcasing military culture such as infantry equipement, winter warfare, combat and weapons handling. The activity allowed cadets to learn more about the regiment and the functioning of the Canadian Armed Forces reserves.
