Western Toads: The Western Toad migration continues in Lost Lake Park. To protect migrating toads, we have completed additional closures, including the single-track trail along the western shoreline of Lost Lake and the single-track trail along the shoreline of Blackcomb Creek. The rest of Lost Lake Park is open.

𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗
Park Shuttles: The free Lost Lake Shuttle is operating daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Labour Day. The Rainbow Park shuttle returns to its regular schedule, operating Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Labour Day.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
2024 Road Reconstruction and Paving Project – Spring Creek Drive: Construction will be taking place on Spring Creek Drive between Monday, August 19 and Friday, August 23 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Single-lane, alternating traffic will be in place, which may cause minor delays and congestion.

𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚
Unidirectional flushing in Cheakamus: Watch for signage at the entrance to the neighbourhood, as it will indicate when we are flushing in the area. At these times, you should limit or avoid using water. Water pressure may be affected and there may be colour in the water. After flushing for the day is complete, please run taps until water is clear.

Western Toads: The Western Toad migration has begun in Lost Lake Park. To protect migrating toads, a part of the Beach Cut Trail, the single-track nature trail on the southwest side of Lost Lake and the east side of Lost Lake Beach are closed. The rest of Lost Lake Park is open.

Rainbow Park: The Rainbow Park shuttle is running daily until Friday, August 16, due to the Valley Trail disruptions to Rainbow Park. The upper gravel parking lot is now open and the lower gravel parking lot will remain closed for a few more weeks. Please obey remaining construction fencing and signage.

Rainbow Park: The Rainbow Park shuttle is running daily from Friday, August 2 to Friday, August 16, due to the River of Golden Dreams closure and Valley Trail disruptions to Rainbow Park.

River Of Golden Dreams: We're making some critical ecosystem improvements to the river. Expect closures between Tuesday, July 30 to Friday, August 16.

Meadow Park Sports Centre Annual Pool and Facility Maintenance Closure 2024: The pool area will be closed for annual maintenance on Monday, August 19 and will re-open on Wednesday, September 18. The entire facility will be closed from Saturday, August 24 and will re-open on Tuesday, September 3.

FireSmart Community Information Workshop: Join us at the Whistler Public Library on Thursday, August 15 to learn how to do your part to be FireSmart.

The Whistler Public Library: The World of Curiosities Magic Show with Leif David is coming up on Friday, August 16 from 4 to 5 p.m.

Alpine Trail Network closures: Multiple sightings of a grizzly on the trails “On the Rocks” and “Lord of the Squirrels." To reduce human-bear conflicts, and for human and bear safety, these alpine trails are temporarily closed.

Western Toads: The great Western Toad migration is approaching. Once the migration has begun, closures may occur. Visitors to Lost Lake Park are asked to stay out of wetland areas and avoid handling or capturing tadpoles.

Geese management activities: Retractable fencing will remain open in parks with large areas of grass.

𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗
BC Hydro EV charger project: BC Hydro will be surveying the Conference Centre Carpark and along Whistler Way, Sunshine Place and Gate Way Drive until Thursday, August 1. Please expect some delays due to single-lane traffic at times.

Whistler Youth Centre: Thursday, August 1 and Friday, August 2, the Whistler Youth Centre will be hosting YC Youth Shred Days, with thanks to EpicPromise. The days include a Bike Park Day Pass, full day lesson, and equipment. This free to attend event is great for beginners and open to ages 13-18.

Rainbow Park: The park is now OPEN! This includes the main lawn, beach, new docks, and volleyball courts. Seeded and hydroseeded areas that are not fully established will remain roped off. Please note that the pay parking lots are closed until project completion. Limited pay parking is available on Alta Lake Road.

Park Eats: Food trucks are in Lost Lake Park and Rainbow Park daily.

Day Lots: New daily and monthly parking rates are now in effect in Whistler’s Day Lots.

Village Gate Boulevard Bikeway Demonstration Project: Drivers, please watch for traffic pattern changes on Village Gate Boulevard. The protected bike lane running from the Fire Hall driveway will close the north side lane to vehicle traffic until the end of September.

Free Summer Weekend Transit
Free transit is available in Whistler every Saturday, Sunday and holiday Monday until Labour Day.

Park Shuttles
The free Lost Lake Shuttle is operating daily and the free Rainbow Park Shuttle operates Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays through Labour Day.

Western Toads: You may see tadpoles at Lost Lake Beach, please look and don’t touch. Naturally occurring salts and oils on human hands can be harmful to tadpoles. Anyone wishing to volunteer with the 2024 Western Toad migration can reach out to [email protected]. The migration is approaching and typically begins late-July.

Park Eats: Food trucks are in Lost Lake Park and Rainbow Park daily.

Rainbow Lake Trail: The Gin and Tonic bridge has been reinstalled on the Rainbow Lake Trail for the summer. Please note the last part of the trail is likely to remain snow covered for the first few weeks of July.

𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚
