Ellelle
Knowing your unique self comes by finding your own way.
Inspired by the healing nature of the natural world, ellelle combines ancient Ayurvedic wisdom, with energy work, and my life experience to inspire you to live out your heart's deepest desires.
Hello! It’s been a while. Things went on hold to bring my darling miss Daisy into the world. My energy was entirely soaked up creating this little human, I had zero left for much else. Hence going on a complete hiatus with ellelle. As of now, I’m not sure which direction this account/project will take, but I feel it’s time to resurrect it. All things Ayurveda, coaching, yoga, pranayam, navigating mamahood, navigating ADHD, maybe I’ll finally download some of my recipes? And maybe none of it all🤷♀️. Perhaps this is a one time post to wish a happy and healthy 2023! Lots of love, Linny xo
About a year has past since I took this pic and about a year has past since I started this account. This process of creation has given me the opportunity to discover so much about myself. There have been highs and lows, much nurturing, self questioning, backtracking, forward momentum and surrendering. I continue to put one foot in front of the other and trust in the process of following my heart.
I’ve been slow at providing much of any content (sorry, for real, I’ve got lots of goods to share), as I’ve been busy behind the scenes.
Finding many magic moments such as this one ☝️ , watching the sunset over Whistler from the peak of Blackcomb all the while falling in love 💗 with my person, having my insanely wonderful family move from around the world now all within arms reach/across the street/15 minute drive , deepening my teaching practice at the cozy studio in Whistler Village , hosting a heart opening/mind bending retreat with my bestest of friends , continuing my learning of Ayurveda virtually bring the Himalayas to the Pacific Coastals with , living more creatively and dismissing off the Artist’s way with a group of incredibly inspiring women, and becoming a certified life coach with . Nature continued to inspire as did all the love that surrounded me. My heart is so full, and when I thought it couldn’t grown anymore, I find out I have even more coming, due August 20th 🤰
If you made it this far through my sappy sharing, 🤙. 22022022, it’s a cool date, similar to the date I began ellelle, 12022021 where I committed to doing this for a year. I continue this commitment for another year. I have a push pull relationship with social media, maybe you’ll see more of me this year, maybe not? I just promise to still show up. Sending so much love! Xoxoxo
So, what’s Ayurveda? It encompasses absolutely everything, from the windstorms and deep freeze in the midst of winter, to the food on your plate and your ever-changing moods.
Ayur (means life) Veda (means knowledge or science)
A timeless science that has transcended through the ages, having just as much relevance today as it did 5000+ years ago when it was first recorded.
It’s a comprehensive science of life. It is so much more than what foods, herbs and medicine are best for us. Medical science is only one part of it. You can’t take care of your health simply with meds and supplements, you need to take care of your entire Self in a holistic manner. ‘We must learn to live properly first. To talk properly. Observe. To know the purpose of this life which is the goal of this life. If there is no clarity in our lives, then it’s nearly impossible to be healthy.’ -says my wise teacher Dr. Sharma
Hence the importance of Ayurveda during this ongoing saga that began back in 2019. Prevention is key to a happy healthy life. Stay tuned for more nuggets into this ancient science and how to live life through a deeper understanding to absolutely everything that surrounds and makes up who we are.

Heyo! I did it. Took advantage of the picture perfect logs at Joffre to pose for a clutch yoga pose for the gram. There’s a reason behind it other than just testing my balance on a log. I’m starting to teach at Whistler’s only Yoga Studio Yogacara! My first class is this Saturday, and I’ll be teaching Hatha at 4:30pm for the next 4 Saturdays after that. Come on up to feel the tranquility and grounding of these incredible mountains! Om. 🙏
This full harvest moon in Pisces has me trusting in the flow, that all good things are naturally drifting towards us. Even when it comes to the flow of glacier runoff. I wrote a piece on our melting glaciers for (the environmental non-profit I’m volunteering with) and the aftermath of the latest IPCC report. Head over to ellelle.ca/blog if you care to learn more.
Ayurveda aka the science of common sense, can be applied to life across our entire planet. No matter where you live, it’s teachings have stood the test of time, and the simplicity is just as poignant now as it was thousands of years ago. Bringing balance and bringing you back to your centre by working with the seasonal fluctuations of nature. With climate change making its presence more and more prevalent, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to correlate between it and our high physical and mental health crises.
Record breaking temperatures = record breaking disease.
Yesterday’s IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report, led by the United Nations and hundreds of global climate scientists, has stated that climate change is definitely real. The Atlantic’s remarks on the report claim, ‘It’s grim. It’s a crisis and it’s caused by fossil fuels. Climate change has arrived, in other words, and it will keep getting worse until humanity reduces its greenhouse-gas pollution to zero.’
The Definition of health as stated by the World Health Organization, is a ‘state of complete physical, mental and social well-being’. With temperatures rising, floods, drought, and storms shattering our planet, we cannot expect our states of well being to improve without taking immediate action.
The more we avoid our planet’s appeal for love, the less connected we become with ourselves. Healing yourself and tuning into the planet on a more intimate level is the most important thing you can do with this life, for yourself, your loved ones, and all living (and non-living) beings big and small across our entire globe.
The magic of Tofino, it’s fresh air, sunsets, whales and waves always leave me in awe. The ocean is where I tend to go to bring balance into my life, especially whislt living in the mountains. We must do everything we can to save ourselves by saving what remains of our planet’s beauty. Tofino has a way of making me feel instantly calm, I can breathe more fully, realigning with what I need most (= waves and rest)

This little writing of mine helps to explain my process and why ellelle is slooooowly but surely evolving. Ellelle is a project for me to share with you, and has allowed me so much growth in my attempt to work.

Late blooming ADHD discovery at 38 years young — ellelle Better late than never right? Getting a diagnosis this late in life was no easy feat, but let me tell you, it is so worthwhile. Now I have that I have the understanding and new tools, I can work with my brain rather than let it control me as it's done all my years prior to 2021

The future of our planet certainly looks as murky as this fog if we keep up our ways of distraction and mindless consumption. Returning to your true nature comes so easily while under the grande old growth canopy at . The Earth Wisdom will run straight through you if you slow down and let it in. Try it. In any forest, doesn’t have to be Fairy Creek. Listen to what the woods have to share. Tune in. What they have to say right now is dire. We must stand up for the lungs of our planet. It’s now or never. Will you be able to tell your children you did the best you could to provide them a future? Tune into the trees, tune into you. You’ll be much better off for it, as will the planet. Healing yourself goes hand in hand with healing the planet. #🖖 .fairycreek
Life has brought me to , and let me tell you, it aligns with all my intentions behind ellelle.
Returning to your true nature, to deeply heal, comes easily when surrounded in the presence of nature. Nature needs our love and attention, just as we need hers.
My Ayurvedic doc/teacher, Doctor Sharma’s () grandfather used to tell him that disease began thousands of years ago when humans left the jungle/forest for the village. When we took ourselves out of the wisdom of nature.
This is why I’m here. To save the magic of the old growth forrests, to preserve our planets health for generations to come, to allow us a space to heal ourselves here and now. This forest is our heart and lungs. We need it for life. This heatwave that’s hitting us globally is a huge sign we need to wake up.
This is me. While I like to find the light in this life, it’s only healthy to acknowledge the shadow that comes along for this cosmic ride. And sometimes, things aren’t as they appear.
One thing I pride myself on is always being straight up by telling the truth. The Yoga Sutras written by Patanjali contain a set of practices to lead you on your spiritual journey, a personal guide allowing you quick access to becoming your best self. Also known as the Eight Limbs of Yoga or Ashtanga Yoga.
Satya - meaning truthfulness - is one of the Yamas. The yamas are the first of the 8 limbs, you master these before moving through the rest. They relate to showing up as best you can for others. My light and fluffy insta stories aren’t telling my whole story. In hopes that by sharing my full truth, I can inspire you to share yours or just get in touch with it, and allow you to transform your greatest weaknesses into your greatest strengths.
That’s my aim. Stay tuned…
My view, back when I hunkered down wearing layers and layers of handmade yak wool sweaters, living in a non-insulated clay home in the chilly autumn and early winter days in Northern India. I returned to the Himalayas to study the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda - right before Covid took hold of the world.
I found this magical spot and my incredible teacher/doctor while following my heart and the flow of life during a year of travels back in 2018. Ayurveda has fascinated me for many many years as it just makes so much sense.
So, what is Ayurveda? Ayur - means life
Veda - means knowledge or science.
Directly, it translates to knowledge of life, or science of life.
Dating back to the Vedas, the most ancient of Indian literature, written somewhere between 7,500-12,000 years ago. It is an ancient science, one that modern science and medicine keeps proving true today.
One that I’m now committed to sharing more and more with you as I continue my studies here in the Pacific Coastal Mountains acknowledging the shared unceded territories of the Squamish and Lil'wat Nations. Canada’s First Nation’s life knowledge and respect for our land goes so deep, similarly to that of India. It is now gaining more respect (perhaps not quite what it deserves…yet), sadly, through acknowledging their pain and suffering with the discovery of past tragedy. Hopefully one day we will be learning and respecting their knowledge to the extent that people travel the world learning Ayurveda in India.

Let’s reflect these mountains and take some time to do absolutely nothing today.
Be an observer. An observer of your inner workings. An observer of the outside world without having to take any action. Be the strong mountain that you are inside.
With the new moon, it’s time to surrender and to slow the f down. It’s so important as the external forces constantly move and sway around us, the constant lure vying for our attention.
Be still, and you’ll notice how much more productive you can actually be ✌️

‘I can hear her heart beat for a thousand miles
And the heavens open every time she smiles
And when I come to her that's where I belong
Yet I'm running to her like a river's song’ -Van Morrison, my post today in ode to my mom (happy early Mother’s Day), Mother Nature and myself.
Taking time, being gentle with myself through seasons of change, figuring life out. I’m still here, hi 👋. As the sun warms up the snow, summertime will soon takeover, feeling like the time of hibernation is coming to a close. Expect more from me here soon ✨

You’re beautiful. I see you. You are the light. You make my heart go boom boom.
Sometimes life can be foggy. When it gets real thick, remember, you are the rock. Your own rock. You have all the answers grounding you from getting lost in the cloudy abyss. to and
Sometimes we choose what we see. Sometimes there’s more to every story, every image, every forest and every living thing. And some of us have a guiding light that was such a strong force, that we can’t help but have it live on inside ourselves.
Like this lone standing green tree, in a field of clear cut, my dad was my flickering fluorescent light bulb, a man who was driven from a young age to help keep our planet strong. ‘There were a lot of granola talking kids in the ’70s and green was not in the forefront, yet Bruce was pushing hard for change. He was a pioneer and thanks to his efforts, the industry is where it is today.’
I have my dad to thank for spearheading my moral compass, I grew up with an education of preservation. My dad’s efforts did not go down in vein, his legacy lives on in the building science of today, and through me and my 2 sisters and their families. Thanks to him alongside my mom and her green thumb, we were raised to respect our great mama earth.

Such is the impermanence of winter, so is this lifetime. Don’t forget to make the most out of every single gosh darn magical moment.
Taking the time to soak up the last of this glorious snow in the fresh air and fine springtime sunshine.
Sometimes life is like cold cold cold glacial water that washes over you and wakes you the flip up.
Feel the cold water come over ya, let life flow like this yummy mineral rich stream. Even when the going gets rough and the heat turns up, 3rd rounds of quarantine come on, you’re feeling rough, you or your friends are coming down with the virus and you’re ready for something diff, simply trust...
Taking my time with ellelle, living in life’s flow, doing thangs and adjusting to change. More to come.
Fast, go, hurry. Slow.
It has come to an end,
The tick and the tock.
Do we know how to stop?
I try.
I sit in it.
The snow.
The Silence.
The Stillness.
I feel the cold wind on my exposed skin.
The weight of the remnant winter holding my heart in my chest.
I breathe.
The mountain air injecting my lungs.
I let go.
Just trust.
And then I see you.
Casting your glow as you rise over the mountains below.
The divine is so damn fine.
And your fullness outshines this time.
Inspired by last month’s full moon rise, my poetry attempt. The same moon that we see today, always up there, on the surface she changes, but always constant as she waxes and wanes. Just as life, our emotions, our seasons, our moons. Releasing with all the full moons, then building up drive manifesting with the new. Balance comes by being here now.
