Since 2000 we have been part of the worldwide network of Rotary International, our club has a laid-back and caring attitude toward our projects (community and international service) and toward visiting Rotarians from around the world.
$1000 donation was made to Zero Ceiling by the Rotary Club of Whistler Millennium. Thank you for all of your great work Zero Ceiling!
Santa is getting booked up!
What an incredible day we had walking running 🏃♀️ and having fun at the Brandywine Boggy on September 23. We also raised more than $6000!
This year our funds will be going to support the education of boys and girls in Tanzania. Our Rotary Club is donating all funds raise to the ENCO Initiative to support the Engaruka English Middle Primary school (EEMPs).
Many children in Tanzania do not get the opportunity to continue their education as they are not provided an english education. All secondary education exams are conducted in English. EEMPs provides select students the opportunity to learn english and complete the exams, allowing them to further their education. They are performing in the top 2% of students nationally! Giving them incredible opportunities to continue education into post secondary and get families out of poverty.
The school is Massai (local culture) developed and run. Although the school was initiated to provide schooling for girls only, the schools administrators (Massai also) soon realised they needed to provide the opportunity also to boys to improve the community in which they all lived. The school now educates boys and girls.
Currently the school is looking to build an administration block, boys dormitory and more classrooms. They have recently built gardens so they can grow their own fruits and vegetables on site for meals for the children. The school also requires an administration building as required by government certification. This is currently being planned for.
Exciting isn’t it?
What an amazing feeling it is to raise money to help build a new facility that the community has identified as a need!
