Have you seen our new Tiny Modernist Cross Stitch patterns that just came in? And YES, she is a Canadian designer!

Tiny Modernist Cross Stitch has a nice combination of modern sayings, animals, and some still have a traditional feel. According to the website: "Tiny Modernist Cross Stitch charts are created by Canadian designer Cheryl McKinnon. She was an artist and a fashion designer before finding her true passion designing cross stitch patterns. Her designs often use retro themes, bright colour palettes and bold graphic elements, and are influenced by her love of retro design, vintage kitchen appliances, Alexander Girard, Charley Harper, 60s fashion, and drawings of animals dressed up like people."

June's newsletter is filled with New Arrivals and Returning Favourites from Hook Line and Tinker, Mojo Stitches, Tamar, The Stitcher's Habit and Tiny Modernist.

A Huge thank you to everyone who made our June Stitch Days such a success: all the stitchers who came, the designers who spoke Carol from the Stitcher's Habit and Cheryl from Tiny Modernist, and to our Friends behind the scenes Toby, Sandy, Sarah, and Jenn.

Thank you to EVERYONE that attended and helped at our June Kimat Stitching Days event! We had SUCH a good time socializing, stitching, learning from our speakers - Carol Higeli from The Stitcher's Habit and Cheryl from Tiny Modernist Cross Stitch - , shopping in the boutique, playing fun little games and, of course, eating delicious food.

Thank you to Jen, Sarah, Sandy, and Toby for ALL their help both preparing for and on the event days.

Travelling to the Lansdowne Textile Festival, this Saturday, June 1st from 10-4 at the Lansdowne Community Hall.

We are very excited to attend, we will be bringing a selection of Cottage Garden Threads, DMC Eco Vita Crewel Wool, and Valdani pearl cotton. Along with patterns, embroidery kits, and notions. If you are looking for something special let us know, we would be happy to bring it along.

Need a certain colour in silk, DMC floss, or hand-dyed floss (Classic Colorwork, The Gentle Arts, Weeks Dye Works.) let us know.

Closed Friday for in-person drop-ins.

1897 Schoolhouse Samplers !

Lianne van Leyen does amazing reproduction samplers as well as her own designs.

From her website... "As caretaker of a growing collection of antique schoolgirl samplers stitched from 1726 to 1939, collected mostly from Great Britain, with the remainder from the U.S.A, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Switzerland and Canada and owner of 1897 Schoolhouse Samplers, I am committed to reproducing antique needlework and producing patterns for the modern stitcher, increasing exposure and interest in historical textiles and needlearts within and outside the stitching community. I present to individuals and groups interested in my collection and in learning more about samplers and their history. "

We are very excited to see everyone at the Bobcaygeon Curling Club for the Settlers’ Villages Quilters Quilt Show and Sale. Today, Saturday May 4 from 10-4. There is a wonderful display of quilts and vendors.

We are very excited that we will be attending the Harvest of Quilts Show and Sale presented by Settlers' Village Quilters Bobcaygeon

The show runs this Friday and Saturday, we will be bringing a curated collection of threads, patterns, embroidery linens, and notions.

Well, Stitch North has concluded and was a ton of fun. ❤ It was so lovely to see everyone ❤.

What's next? Kimat Stitching Days!!! (Oh, and a couple of Quilt shows before that -see our website for details).

There are still a few spots left for June if you are interested, and several more for August.

We are, again, hosting the event in the cozy little Community Center in Lemonville (a hamlet of Stouffville, Ontario, Canada).

Space is limited for each day. Price is $85 per person plus taxes for one day or $150 plus taxes for two consecutive days (a $20 discount).

This includes a light breakfast, hot lunch, snacks, and beverages each day PLUS SUPRISES! Parking is also included.

Have you seen the WONDERFUL new releases from Works By ABC?

We LOVE her patterns. Arlene Beth Cohen is the founder of WorksbyABC (guess where the ABC comes from). She started to cross stitch at a very young age because, incredibly, a free sample issue of Cross Stitch and Country Crafts Magazine was sent to her home with her name on the cover (not her mother's name). No one in her family was a stitcher. Inside was a pattern that caught her eye and she just had to try stitching it - which started a life-long fascination and love of cross stitch. She used her babysitting money to buy all the threads and supplies, and later paid for it to be framed. She still has the framed design to this day.

Isn't that amazing??

Today, we have set up in Kingston at the Cross Dressing and Stitching Exhibit from 1-3 PM. If you're in the area, come stop by to view some incredible artwork created by Gil from March 16th until March 31st. 647a Princess st.

What is your Nashville Market start?
I’m (Meagan) very excited to start working on 324 by WorksByABC. Based on a 16th century lace cloth in the Cleveland museum this pattern features 324 colours of DMC Floss. It’s hard to believe that when pulling the first six colours I was missing two from my stash.

We are excited to be a vendor this Saturday at the Three River Stitch Social.
