Registered charity that collects and distributes gift-filled Shoeboxes to women risking homelessness
For women who have been displaced from their homes and estranged from their families, special occasions can be particularly challenging. Often, women report feeling disconnected from society, invisible and alone. The Youth Wellness Hub of Windsor-Essex has received a generous donation of
shoeboxes filled with self-care items and essentials from ! We so appreciate their generosity! We still have boxes available, so if you are a youth who would like a box, feel free to stop by the Hub and grab one for the holidays 😁
We exceeded our goal this year by 100 boxes!! 🥲

We’ve delivered our first round of shoeboxes to the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women 💖
Their mission: The Welcome Centre Shelter exists to reduce the devastating impact of homelessness and poverty by providing safe emergency shelter and transitional supports to women and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

We are beyond grateful for such an amazing donation!! 💝
This year, members of the Windsor Police Service raised $3,500 to prepare 70 boxes of wellness and hygiene essentials for local women in need.
Members of our community will receive boxes filled with daily necessities, small luxuries, and notes of encouragement this holiday season.
This initiative is run in partnership with The Shoebox Project, an organization that aims to empower women who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness through in-kind support, education, and community participation.

We accept Gender Inclusive Shoeboxes! Creating and donating a gender inclusive shoebox can
greatly impact the well-being of its recipient, making them
feel valued and accepted for who they are 🏳️⚧️🤍
Much like our current Shoeboxes, gender inclusive Shoeboxes will be valued at approx. $50, and will include a mixture of basic essentials and special gifts.
Ideally, these Shoeboxes will be packaged or wrapped in a neutral colour, and the card
or box should not include any reference to a particular gender.
Some of the items that these Shoeboxes might include are:
-General hygiene products for any gender (shampoo & conditioner, deodorant, body wash, toothbrush & toothpaste)
-Accessories in neutral-colors (crew-length socks, gloves, hats)
-Bath & beauty products that may be appreciated by all genders (lotions, cleansers, lip balm)
-Journal or colouring supplies
-Chocolate / candy
-A gift card

It is finally here! The day that we officially kick off LOLA’S PAJAMA FAIRY PROJECT 2022 and begin collecting warm and cozy pajamas for those in need. Last year 1600 pairs of pajamas were collected and distributed to numerous charities.
We were overwhelmed by the generosity of so many people in communities across Windsor and Essex County. We have no doubt that this year will be any different and that we will reach and hopefully surpass our goal of 1600 pairs!
If you would like to become a part of Lola’s Pajama Fairy Project we are in need of new pajamas in children’s, youth and adult sizes. You can make your donation at any of the drop off locations listed or contact us and we will be happy to pick up. Please like and follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
