The amazing musicians of the Assumption HS Jazz band came together last week to perform for the welcoming ceremonies of the Fogolar Congresso Conference 2024. We are so proud of this amazing group of student musicians and looking forward to another awesome year!!!! Good Afternoon,

It is with a heavy heart that we share with the Assumption community the passing of our former police liaison officer, our dear friend, Constable Nigel Ramcharan. Nigel loved his work and loved working with our students.

We will miss Constable Ramcharan so very much. Please pray for his loving family and for the repose of his soul. May you rest in peace, in the arms of the Lord, dear Nigel. Today, we are proud to welcome three new students to our Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) summer program. Over the next eight weeks, they will have the opportunity to work alongside our officers and get involved in community outreach initiatives. Welcome to the team!

The Assumption community would like to thank everyone involved in the United Way Windsor-Essex On Track to Success. Yesterday we celebrated the successes of the program at their annual dinner at the St. Clair College Center for the Arts. We are so proud of all of our students in the program. Assumption alumnist David Shabo was one of the emcees for the event, and did a wonderful job. The student spotlight speaker was Ritchie Blanc, also an Assumption alumnist, and his energy was so infectious. Finally our Principal Melissa Cavallin, was the educator spotlight speaker, and she was eloquent in describing the benefits of the program. Congratulations to Grade 9 student Liko Li (Jr band, Jazz band Tenor player) for an amazing accomplishment. Liko was awarded 1st place for an original composition from the Ontario Music Festivals Association. Summer Kickoff Concert 2024!

On Thursday May 30 the award winning Assumption Music program will take center stage at the Capitol Theatre Windsor for their annual Summer Kick-Off Concert! This will be an epic concert like no other! Joining them on stage will be 2 guest soloists oboist Faith Scholfield and trumpeter Russ Macklem Faith is an oboist extraordinaire from the Windsor Symphony Orchestra who will be joining the Sr. Concert Band performing the solos from two beautiful pieces Cinema Paradiso and Defiance. Our second guest soloist Juno-nominated Russ Macklem will be joining the Jazz band and will be featured on works such as Vehicle, Moondance, Things Ain’t What They Used to Be, and Crunchy Frog.
