Are you looking for a new holiday book to share with your family? Dianne Heinrichs has just published her first book, Bubba Clause Helps Santa Spread Joy, and all proceeds will support cancer care at BTHC. ❤ After losing her husband Myles to cancer, and inspired by her own cancer journey, Dianne channeled her grief into writing a Christmas story using her husband's holiday nickname "Bubba Clause". You can purchase your copy at King's Deli Market & Eatery, Buttercup Greenhouse & Cafe, or Amazon.

December 5th is International Volunteer Day. From BTHC's Palliative Care Volunteer Coordinator, Jeri-Ann Froese, "We believe that BTHC would not be the amazing hospital it is if not for the dedicated volunteers that show up daily with caring hearts, ready to serve wherever and whenever needed. We all see and appreciate you!
You may never know the profound effect that you may have made on a person’s life. A kind word, a gentle touch or a listening ear can mean so much to someone who is sick, in pain or lonely. You generously give your gift of time to make contact, provide support and encouragement and perhaps provide humor to make someone’s day a bit more bearable because you have taken the time to care and to listen." Thank you Volunteers! ❤

Throughout the year, the Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation has been the grateful recipient of estate bequests and donations made in memory of loved ones. Your gifts will be used to support our facility expansion, help purchase advanced medical equipment that enhance the services available at BTHC, and support our Palliative and Spiritual Care programs. These donations made in memory have an incredible and lasting impact on our hospital. Thank you for thinking of the Foundation and helping establish a legacy in your loved one's memory. ❤

Community volunteers support many programs at BTHC. They provide in-hospital companion visits, support the meal assist program, comfort cart assistance, and provide assistance for Cancer Care patients and families, just to name a few. All of this is organized by our Palliative Care Coordinator. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, the BTHC Foundation is able to offer wage support for this vital position that makes these enriching programs for our patients possible. Thank you! ❤

Today is GivingTuesday - a global generosity movement that encourages people to give back any way they can, be it a financial donation, volunteering their time, or giving kindness. The BTHC Foundation is so grateful to live in such a generous community with incredible support for our Capital Campaign and continued support for our annual financial commitments to BTHC. We are also thankful for community volunteers who freely give their time and talents to our volunteer programs and our new prayer shawl project to make a difference in our patients' lives. We encourage you to take some time on GivingTuesday to think about how you can give today, whether it be an act of kindness or a gift of time or money to a cause close to your heart. ❤

The BTHC Foundation funds a specialized nursing position that provides high quality, personalized care for patients with terminal illness and short timelines. The Palliative Care program also helps patients and their families navigate access to specialized programs, as well as provide grief supports and resources. With your support, we are able to help enhance patient care during this difficult time. Thank you. ❤

11/24/2023

A trip to the hospital can trigger waves of emotion for patients and their families as they navigate illness, injury, loss, death and dying, depression, childbirth and loss. When requested, the Spiritual Care Coordinator can provide compassionate and caring support BTHC for patients and families, as well as staff. Spiritual Care at BTHC relies solely on fundraising and your donations. Thank you to our donors and community churches for supporting this program. ❤

BTHC Foundation staff had a lot of fun today, handing out chocolate mustaches to BTHC and clinic staff in Morden and Winkler. The mustaches were purchased from Mary Reimer in support of her fundraiser. Funds raised through the sale of chocolate mustaches will come back to BTHC Cancer Care and she's raised over $16,000 so far. Thank you to our anonymous donor who made it possible to share 1,000 mustaches with our healthcare staff! There's still time to place your mustache order. Please contact Mary directly if you'd like to get in on this delicious fundraiser.

Thanks to your support, the BTHC Foundation recently purchased a digital imaging plate for the Diagnostics department at BTHC. This piece of advanced technology allows technologists to perform portable x-rays in places like the nursery or ER - which vastly improves the department's efficiency. Now, the images will be instantly available on the portable x-ray machine, saving the time in takes to transport the images to the x-ray department for processing. With the digital plate, radiation doses to patients will be reduced by up to 50%! Thank you for helping our staff continue to deliver excellent patient care in a timely manner. ❤

Thank you Morden Community Thrift Store, for your unwavering belief in our Campaign and the work of the Foundation. ❤️

We as a Thrift Shop had the privilege of giving $1,000,000.00 to the Boundary Trails Health Foundation. The dollar bill in the photo is the first dollar that the Thrift Shop ever made. So thankful that we are able to do this. God is awesome! 😊❤️
