A Little Greenery

I finally re-potted my Dracaena. 1 used to be 3 in the pot but two died and I just left it looking like that for a year. The other one, the variegated one, I got at Rona literally dying I had to buy it for $5 and take it home to save it.
These two just belong together.

I repotted outside using 1 giant mat for most of the work to hold on to all the soil in the large pot and I also used a medium just to hold o to that nice bark that was laying on top. Didn’t loose any soil and cleanup was so easy. She gorgeous now.

I’m loving how much the mats are keeping my glitter in one place. Paint and glue peels right off! Seriously. The. Best.

I had to play with Play-Doh last night to get this pic and I’m not mad! It was actually really nice open a fresh can of Play-Doh as an adult!!! Anyways 10/10 for keeping the mess in one place and cleanup was quick and easy!!

Today I used my repotting mat and gave one of my oldest plants a bigger pot. It was so happy in the last pot but she deserves better. My gorgeous Peperomia obtusifolia, also known as the baby rubber plant.

My pickle cactus dropped two sticks. They were mushy so. Most likely root rot. I guess this plant hates water!!

Repotting your plants is vital for your plants growth because:

🪴More space for roots to grow. Without enough space plants can experience stunted growth and may die. Healthy roots = healthy plants.

🪴It replaces depleted soil with new potting mix full of nutrients

🪴If You notice any of the above signs, it may be time to give your plants a bigger, healthier, happier home!

I’m transitioning my orchid to a water culture orchid.
I removed my orchid from its clear pot and removed all the bark. Cleaned the roots and cut off any dead roots.
Then I filled a glass vase with about 1” of water and pushed the orchid down to the bottom.
I’m going to only top up the water when it’s all gone.
I’ll keep you updated when I get a new leaf or I sprout a new stem!
