A physiotherapist creating opportunities to help you discover, explore and connect with movement!
I am a physiotherapist passionate about creating awareness in our community about how to be proactive about our physical health. My mission is to help people discover, explore and connect with movement! This is why I created the Discover Motion Workshop - its all about trying new and fun forms of movement while also taking the opportunity to learn about your movement.
My THREE Appointment Rule.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s simple really. If you see ZERO positive change within THREE appointments with me, I’m not the right therapist for you! And to be completely honest, three is generous because I aim for some kind of positive change after ONE!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let’s make it clear though, change does not mean you’re 100% better, gosh no, I’m not a miracle worker (although that’d be awesome). We celebrate the little things like feeling more in control of your rehab journey, sleeping better, gaining some range of motion so activities of daily living are easier or getting stronger and more confident with tasks. Change is movement in the right direction and this can look VERY different for everyone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Bottom line though, I want you to reach your goals just as much as you do and if we aren’t making progress, I don’t want to waste your time and am happy to refer you to other health care practitioners to get you going in the right direction.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All I need from you is honest and open communication so together we can troubleshoot what’s best for you!
Back to work in less than a week 😅
My work hours will be the following:
Tuesday 8:30-12:30pm
Thursday 8:30-12:30pm
Friday 12-4pm
My first week is booked and my second week is filling up! Thank you for your trust in me as your practitioner, I am excited to help you in your rehab journey 🤗
You can book online, DM me or email me at [email protected] to get an assessment.
See everyone so soon!!! 🙌
Although a tendinopathy due to an injury or over-use can occur at any age, incidences of tendinopathy amongst women increase after menopause due to the hormonal changes that go on in this stage of life.
In particular, due to the decreasing levels of oestrogen.
What can you do?
It's important to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle to help prevent and manage these conditions. Let's keep our bodies strong and healthy at every age!
If you’re currently experiencing tendon pain, it’s important to seek guidance from a health care professional to assist you in your rehab journey.
The gold standard of care is load management and exercise!
One. Stride. At. A. Time.
Have a great weekend everyone!
My Treatment Style ⭐️I know it can be difficult to find the right therapist for you, so I’m going to highlight my style to help you decide if you’re interested in starting your physiotherapy journey with me.
1️⃣ Hands-On Treatment: At each appointment, I provide some sort of hands-on treatment. This often includes soft tissue release and/or joint mobilization. By using these techniques, I can help alleviate pain, and improve mobility.
2️⃣ Dry Needling and Acupuncture: If appropriate for my client, I often incorporate dry needling and/or acupuncture. These techniques have proven to be highly effective in relieving muscle tension, reducing inflammation, and promoting healing.
3️⃣Movement-Based Approach: Movement is key to rehab and I always spend time finding your entry point and tailoring exercises to your unique situation. By incorporating your goals and lifestyle into our sessions, we can work towards achieving long-lasting results.
4️⃣Communication with Other Health Professionals: I understand the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare. I prioritize communication with your other health professionals, such as doctors, personal trainers, chiropractors, or massage therapists. By collaborating with them, we can ensure that your treatment plan is comprehensive and coordinated.
6️⃣ Honest and Transparent Approach: Your well-being is my top priority, and if I feel that I am not the right fit for your specific needs, I won't hesitate to refer you to another healthcare practitioner. I follow a three-appointment rule - if you don't see any improvement within three sessions, it's important to explore other options. Your satisfaction and progress matter to me!
I’m here to help you reach your goals! So if the above sounds like a style you’re looking for feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to book with me!
You don’t need rest, you need activity modifications. When you're recovering from an injury, we're here to assist you in rediscovering your way back to movement and physical activity.
During your rehabilitation process, you might find yourself hiking 5km instead of 10km, opting for walks or bike rides instead of running, or engaging in pickleball for 2 hours instead of 4.
Regardless of the modification, the ultimate goal is to help you return to your previous level of activity or reach your desired goals!
That pesky tendon pain.According to Alison Grimaldi, physiotherapist, practitioner and researcher, when it comes to soft tissue injuries, tendinopathies take the lead on prevalence.
Have you heard the terms; a rotator cuff tendinopathy, a gluteal tendinopathy or golfers elbow… these all fall under the category of tendinopathies and they can be quite the annoyance! It takes commitment and dedication to rehab these types of injuries because they often take at the very least 3 months to see improvement.
Stay tuned for more information on tendinopathies. In the meantime, let me know if this is news to you 👇
Let’s talk about finding the perfect physiotherapist for you!
We all know that taking care of our bodies is crucial, especially when it comes to recovering from injuries or managing chronic pain. That’s where physiotherapy comes in! But how do you pick the right physiotherapist for you?
First and foremost, it’s essential to find someone who makes you feel comfortable and at ease. A friendly and encouraging physiotherapist can make all the difference in your journey towards healing. Look for someone who listens attentively, understands your concerns, and genuinely cares about your well-being.
Experience matters! Seek out a physiotherapist who has a solid track record and specializes in your specific needs. Whether it’s sports injuries, post-surgery rehabilitation, or managing chronic conditions, finding someone with expertise in your area of concern will know the recent research and ensure you receive the most effective treatment possible.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions! A great physiotherapist will be more than happy to answer any queries you may have and also won’t be afraid to say they will look into it if they don’t know the answer. Open communication is key to building a strong patient-therapist relationship.
Recommendations and reviews can be incredibly helpful! Reach out to friends, family, or even your online community for suggestions. Hearing about positive experiences from people you trust can give you the confidence to make the right choice.
Lastly, trust your instincts! Your gut feeling is often a reliable guide. If you feel a connection with a particular physiotherapist and believe they genuinely have your best interests at heart, then you’re on the right track!
Remember, finding the right physiotherapist is a personal journey, and it’s okay to explore different options until you find the perfect fit. Your health and well-being are worth investing in, so don’t settle for anything less than exceptional care!

👋👋👋
It’s been a while since I’ve done a personal introduction… so it’s time to say 👋 and remind you how thankful I am for being with me on this journey! (Plus, once again I got super cute candid photos done by that I can share 🤗)
So here we go, 5 things about me:
1. I am no longer surrounded by boys. We welcomed our baby girl Maddyn this September. And although I (and most people 😹) always thought I was destined for 3 boys, I am over the moon to have a little girl sidekick! So far, she is the calm to our storm. The boys are still very high energy (they come by it honestly) and we are buzzing around with activities. And of course we always sprinkle in some walks for our first and most steady boy, Jax.
2. If I didn’t become a physiotherapist, I would have become a teacher. I love everything about learning from and teaching others!! I enjoy taking physio students and have made some awesome relationships! I hope to one day be teaching physio or something related to physio!
3. My favourite pastime is playing board or card games. Settlers of Catan is my favourite but get me in an intense crib match and I might flip the table if I lose… 😅 long story but Dan, my husband, knows how to push those buttons.
4. I am going to train for the 2024 Manitoba half marathon! Shoot, now that I put this on paper, it’s official 💪!!! Any else work like this?
5. Lastly, my passion is helping people find what type of movement they love. This is why I started Discover Motion. It is a way to help people discover and explore different activities to spark their interest and get them excited about movement, All while giving back to the community! I’m optimistic we will get it going again in the new year! Stay tuned.
Okay so if you made it to this part… wow, thanks for sticking around 🤗 and want to take a moment to THANK you for your support!! Whether that be coming to Discover Motion, participating in Bootcamp, trusting me as your therapist or helping me in anyway!!
THANK YOU ALL for making it fun and keeping me going on this physio journey!! 👊👊👊
If you have any burning physio, personal questions or funny comments… I want to hear it👇.
I am officially on maternity leave!!! (Well kind of lol)
Today was my last day seeing clients and it felt so good to make sure all clients have been referred to another amazing therapist and will be in great hands while I am away!!
I will be continuing to check emails and help to manage the clinic, so please never hesitate to reach out with any of your physio questions or concerns! I can set you up with someone who would be a great fit for your injury and you!
I am so excited to spend some time with family and chase (or waddle) these kids around until this next babe joins!
Looking forward to seeing you again in the clinic sometime in the 2024!!
Taking a break from regular physio month programming and enjoying the summer sunshine and bbq season!
Team bonding with the best.
EXCITING NEWS!
I’ve been a little quiet on here lately so I figured it was time to share the reason why!!
As most of my active patients know, I have been busy growing another little human to join our busy family early September!!! 🤰🏽👶
I will be going down in hours come summer and off on maternity leave early August. I look forward to helping you in your recovery and movement journey until then!! Also, I will make sure you are in the best hands possible while I’m away!!
And let’s get real, I won’t be away for long 😅 I love my job too much!

Today we presented our donation to the from our 2nd Discover Motion fundraiser event.
We were able to donate $600 to the physical activity, sports and recreation programs that BGC Winnipeg organizes for youth.
We are thankful they provide inclusive movement opportunities for kids at an early age to help facilitate a positive relationship with movement.
Once again, thank you to all those involved in the day. We are extremely thankful for the support and wouldn’t be able to make this day happen without you! THANK YOU!
Today we remember those who sacrificed so much for us and our future generations.
Lest we forget.
Once again, cannot thank these ladies enough for all the time and effort they put in to making this day happen!
They were always willing to step up and help when needed, they helped my “all over the map” brain stay on track and most of all came together to make the day a success!
A true definition of team work.
Cannot wait to plan the next one!!!
(I’d be lying if I said my head hasn’t already been brainstorming new ideas 😹)
