OM. What Does Om Mean? Om or aum (pronounced ah-uu-mm) is a sacred sound considered by many ancient philosophical texts to be the sound of the universe, encompassing all other sounds within it. In Sanskrit, om is called Pranava, which means to hum, and is considered an unlimited or eternal sound.
Often holidays can be times of profound sadness. Treat yourself with grace and kindness and choose one or all of these many healing paths.
What can you do to spread kindness, compassion and live this Holiday season?
A very good reminder of just how many things we can be grateful for.

Yoga is so much more than asana (movement/exercise)
Be present. Do something to make each day special. re-printed from my lovely yoga friend April Baker
Just be.
“Keeping your body healthy is an expression of Gratitude to the Cosmos”. As November is a month of gratitude, can we honour this statement by giving up one unhealthy habit? It can be nutritional, as in giving up pop; it can be emotional, as in giving up self-criticism; it can be physical, as in giving up exercise only for appearance. What can you give up to express gratitude to your body and to the Cosmos? re-printed from my dear friend/physio/yogi DonaWattHutchings
Chakra affirmations. Repeat as necessary and make it already so. reposted from my friend April Baker, my first yoga teacher trainer.
This musing by Sarah Blondin really spoke to me. With all the suffering happening in the world right now, I am feeling hopeless, sad, and helpless. This musing told me I can be of help. In my actions of kindness and generosity ; in my daily meditation calling for peace: spreading that, and it is contagious! Let us all dwell in and wish for peace across the world Listen to John Lennons Imagine while you meditate on Peace. 🌎
I ❤️ this! Basically it is telling us “this too shall pass, just breathe”, for negative feelings. It also can mean “take it all in and if it takes your breathe away, just breathe” for positive feelings The breathe is always the anchor 💕💕💕🧘🏻♀️
Listen to your body, and know when it needs a « reset ». I would add yoga to that list. Remember that yoga is not simply asana (movement) but also breath work (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana) Take good care of yourselves!

This is what yoga is and so much more.
Karma yoga is often defined as « the yoga of action » or « the path of selfless service. » The Sanskrit word
« Karma » is derived from the root word « Kru. » which translates as « work, deed or action. » Yoga is a set of practices to unite the body, mind, and heart into a state of oneness.
When we think of service, we often think of service as one thing. It’s either giving our time or money, but offering up service can be so much more than that.
It can be something as simple as offering someone our kindness, our compassion, advice, support, presence, to lend a listening ear to someone who needs it, to give someone hands on help if you can provide that.
Think of service as sharing abundance. What do you have an abundance of right now? When you share from that place, it’s easier to fill your own cup back up too.
Try to be of service this week, in any way you can.
There are so many ways to use your resources to shine some light out into this world. 🙏🧘🏻♀️
Thanksgiving is the time to practice gratitude. What are YOU grateful for?

Today is the first day of fall.
Are you having trouble with change, letting go of summer? If this is you, you might also have trouble letting go of uncertainty, anxierty, fear of the future, anger. To release all of this, you can embrace the Ksepana mudra during a quiet time. How to? From Anjali mudra press index fingers together and interlock the remaining four fingers. Cross thumbs then lower hands to point index fingers down toward the earth. Think about what you are having trouble letting go of with each out breathe. With each in breath think: I embrace change and move with it.
Enjoy the changes associated with Fall! Be present everyday! ❤️fall
When I took my yoga teacher training I was somewhat skeptical about what the Chakras purported to do. However I had an AHA moment when I saw that each of the 5 lower chakras are located directly in front of a corresponding nerve plexus at the frontal spinal column! Of course this would be an energy centre! Like meridians in TCM which have been proven to exist despite being invisible to the naked eye, so too must the Chakras! I personally have experienced changes in my mood emotions energy level etc by working on specific chakra practices. It is all about being present and listening to the body to really experience these chakra experiences. physiotherapist
