Moore was elected after winning the third ballot on Wednesday, July 24th at the Annual Manitoba Chiefs Assembly.

May 5th was Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for MMIWG2S+. On this day, supporters honoured all MMIWG2S+ families, survivors, and advocates and raised awareness of this national systemic issue by wearing the colour red, and by participating in solidarity initiatives and events.
