Helferinnen und Helfer gesucht!
Unser Verein Thanksgiver verteilt jeden Mittwoch Lebensmittel an armutsbetroffene Menschen in Muttenz. Damit unterstützen wir nicht nur wöchentlich etwa 200 Personen sondern verhindern enormen Foodwaste. Unsere Mitgliederanzahl wächst rasant, weshalb wir uns über weitere Freiwillige freuen würden, welche mittwochs von 13h30 bis ca. 17h30 mithelfen, die Ware zu verteilen. THIS WEEK'S SHOW
Laura Rosso and Lisa Brunet told us about Thanksgiver Schweiz, a charity that helps reduce the hunger gap by providing families access to nutritious food.

These 5 principles aim to minimise waste by encouraging people to refuse what they don't need, reduce what they do need, and find ways to reuse and recycle materials to void sending them to landfills. Rotting, or composting, is also an important part of zero waste as it turns organic waste into nutrient-rich soil.

Students exemplify Youth Volunteerism
The students from International School Basel have graciously dedicated their time every Wednesday to help ThanksGiver set up, clean, organise, and hand out grocery deliveries in our Muttenz location. We thank these wonderful young ladies for their commitment and demonstrating their compassion and generosity to support our community.

The holidays are all about giving and gratitude, so today we're saying a huge thank you to all of our volunteers and sponsors who make ThanksGiver possible!
On December 9 we celebrated the first anniversary of our food bank in Birsfelden, which would never have been possible without all of the love and support we've received.
This video captures the day and shows you what being a Thanksgiver is all about. Take a look for some Christmas cheer, and join us or become a sponsor if you want to spread warmth and kindness all year long. Even a small donation of 5 CHF/month helps a lot.

Feel Good & Do Good – Christmas Fundraising

ThanksGiver goes to the Theatre
On Saturday 20th November, ThanksGiver went to the Boutique Theatre in Basel. They hold brilliant events, and on this day had organised a Cabaret and Cake evening. We met many wonderful people who were interested in chatting and learning more about ThanksGiver's work. We got some very generous donations and, of course, sold our awesome, colourful umbrellas! We have a shop!
In our goal to raise money and keep feeding the local community we are excited to announce we have opened an online shop, with all proceeds going straight to Thanksgiver.
We did a lot of research and came up with many MANY ideas on the best product to offer, and decided on something unique and fun, but also practical; colourful, inside-out umbrellas.
Double Layered - two layers keep these umbrellas 'windproof'. Wind vents on the interior layer allow wind gusts to flow through without the risk of turning your umbrella inside out.
Reversible design - reverse folding design keeps the rain on the inside of the umbrella when closed. Hang it up on your coat hooks without worrying that your coats will get wet!
'Hands-free' handle - The special C-shaped handle loops onto your wrist, giving you access to both of your hands. No more fumbling around with your bag or cellphone single-handed.
Colourful designs - a wide range of designs to choose from and, best of all, the design is on the inside, so YOU can enjoy the colour on those rainy, grey days.

If you enjoyed Gracie Hughes and Anthony Hehir in our inaugural production, The Last Five Years, you'll love hearing them in Cabaret and Cake! @ Peter Sandbach will bring us some laughs and, you'll also hear a preview of our upcoming musical. And, best of all, there's cake!

This year, the power and perseverance of the volunteers that raise their hands and come out to Volunteer with the ThankGiver Foodbank has reached new heights. We are humbled and honored to have such a dedicated crew with hearts that know no boundaries – well, except staying 6 feet apart due to social distancing! 😊
