These kids are just terrific!

Thrilled to share that a number of my students from school and my private studio have been cast in a Sound of Music sequence with the Basel Proms. They will have the esteemed opportunity to sing with a full orchestra and giant chorus at the illustrious Stadtcasino right here in Basel! Go Daphne, Zoe, Kiara, and Julia! What an honor and opportunity!

Sir Andrew Davis (1944-2024)

Here at the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra we are all deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Sir Andrew Davis.

Our relationship with him was forged over many years of performances and recordings, and the legacy he left and the laughter he brought will not be forgotten by our musicians or our audiences.

We will be reflecting on how best to honour and celebrate Andrew's remarkable role in the BBC.

Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time.

Was recently in London and just had to take a tour of the Royal Albert Hall! Next time I hope to see a concert! But this time, we were able to see the theater, walk through the royal entrance, hang out in the royal "green room" and learn about the Hall's amazing history! Feeling inspired for Basel Proms 2024!! What a milestone! 25 years conducting and inspiring thousands of children across the UK! And to think, we've got him all to ourselves here in Basel - how lucky we are! Congratulations to our Principal Conductor, David Lawrence from all of us at Basel Proms!

Say hello to the incredible Young Voices conductor, David Lawerence!⭐

David is one of the UK's most versatile conductors. In 2019, he received an honorary award from the Royal Academy of Music in recognition of his contribution to the music profession 🎤.

David has conducted notable works such as Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Queensland and Orff's Carmina Burana in Dubai. After this year's tour, David will be heading back to Australia to conduct the Verdi Requiem!

This year marks a significant milestone for David as we joyously celebrate his 25-year anniversary of conducting for Young Voices! 🤍

The children are always excited when they see David step onto the stage.
