The Paul Scherrer Institute .scherrer.institut is a multidisciplinary research institute for natural sciences and engineering. Research is carried out on topics such as health, energy and materials of the future. Together with a team of editors, we realize the magazine #5232 to make the activities and developments at the PSI accessible to a broad public.
For each issue we develop design concepts involving photography, infographics, illustration, 3D visualisation etc. Over the years we had the chance to work with many wonderful and creative colleagues.

How to show a company on a human scale? Volker Renner managed to grasp the personal qualities of Biechele Stahl und Eisenwaren with sensitive portraits in a setting between tradition and modernity.
Biechele Stahl und Eisenwaren – a South German steal trading company with long tradition. It exists since 1644 and with a new generation came a clean and functional corporate design. we focussed on the key elements, that make the company visible – on the construction side as well as online.

Where Are My Keys? A reduced black and white signature identity for new curatorial association dedicated to giving art the proper space(s).

Where Are My Keys – a new curatorial association dedicated to opening doors and giving art the proper space(s). The team of .are.my.keys.art collaborates with artists and art institutions around the world to develop site-specific exhibitions based on scientific research approach. We developed a reduced black and white signature identity for them.
Looking back: 2019 we were asked by the and the curator to work on the catalog, the communication and exhibtion design for the show “Territories of Waste”. After a long break due to the Covid pandemic the show finally took place last year.
In view of the planetary crisis, the littering of the planet – alongside climate change and the extinction of species – has once again become the focus of artistic practices. The exhibition and catalog accumulate contemporary voices as well as several iconic works of the past to examine how ‘the rest’ manifests itself in art.

A hallmark signifies the material quality or the origin of an object. We designed one for the precious brass objects of .res.
A clear typography and a strict grid set the frame for the brand applications of res: i.e. product dossier, business cards or event poster.

Packaging is an important part of brand design. for .res we created beautiful cotton bags from Oekotex textiles for the precious goods. They can be reused for many things. – Also reused are the boxes that Ita Res uses for shipping.
„Dialogue of things“: in 2021 -huebner of Studio HübnerBraun founded .res together with Florian Biechele: a platform for new objects and projects on the border of design and art. They started with a beautiful series of brass objects for your home and office but also colaborate with artists and develop exhibition displays and furniture. From the beginning we shaped the brand through thoughtful photography, a clear typography and an elegant website and onlineshop. Go have a look!

onformative works at the interface of technology, art and design. We accompanied the studio in the further development of their corporate identity. In close exchange, we sharpened the profile and helped to make the complex field of their work more tangible.

Another project from our archive: is not only a studio for digital media, but also a specific way of designing. Julia Laub, Cedric Kiefer and their team develop interactive installations, experimental spaces and complex information graphics.
In 2015 we developed a redesign of their brand identity by looking into the usage of typography, colors and design systems, reducing all elements to the max.

The business cards were printed on the beautiful via letterpress by . This creates a natural embossing on both business and greeting cards and strengthens the haptic moment of the identity.
Looking back into our archive we found another fun project: In 2019 we developed a brand identity for the Zurich based footwear designer Meret Aebersold . We created a simple yet effective design for her focusing on the logotype and dashing colors.
Every brand needs custom-tailored images to make it instantly recognizable. The Garçoa Brand Imagery was taken by amazing Attila Janes
in 2021.
