The Digital Account for the New Economy
Mt Pelerin is a Swiss fintech company expert in applying blockchain to banking and finance. It is creating a full reserve, marketplace-based digital institution using that technology to democratize access to financing and investment.
Mt Pelerin will be a full reserve account, meaning that customer deposits will be kept in reserve as high quality liquid assets (HQLA as defined in Basel III) which can be converted in cash within a day. In this way, Mt Pelerin de facto eliminates market risks on deposits and establishes the safest custodian in the world.
As it will not use deposits to provide financial products, Mt Pelerin will provide them by organizing marketplaces, where individuals, companies and financial institutions will be able to interact and trade directly. Seamlessly integrated into the account’s e-banking, these marketplaces will enable users to issue, sell and buy financial products. By being able to be the counterparty of product requests, users who actively engage in that activity will have access to the level of financial returns normally reserved to investment banks and finance professionals. Alternatively, users who choose to stay passive on the marketplace will simply enjoy faster, cheaper and more convenient services.
The marketplaces will also list and aggregate products from third party financial institutions, through an API that will easily let them plug into Mt Pelerin’s ecosystem as an additional distribution channel. For customers, this aggregation will work as a search engine for financial products, where they will be able to browse, compare and buy products from a wide panel of providers.
