Nask Studio Internship Opportunity: Graphic Design & Art Direction Intern

Start Date: September 2024

We are seeking rigorous and motivated individuals with exceptional skills and references in graphic design, typography, digital animation, and art direction. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, excellent communication, teamwork abilities, and the capacity to work independently are essential.

Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Duration: 3+3 months

In an era that glorifies the intangible, under the guise of pursuing less expensive, energy-efficient, faster, and more effective solutions, designing and producing books is increasingly reduced to a mere exercise in style. This transformation renders book creation a fetishistic and elitist pursuit, accessible only to a select few.

Yet, for those who truly understand, the process, the planning, the expertise involved, the smells, the noise of the machines, and the entire manufacturing journey of each project, all of it emerges as a poetic song, a romantic meditation, akin to a pregnancy culminating in the birth of a magnificent child.

Signage for an exhibition is always a thrilling endeavor, scaling the experience of visual identity and creating immersive narratives.

Here’s a glimpse at the signage concept designed by Nask Studio for the 6th edition of 50JPG – 50 Days for Photography in Geneva. The theme, OSMOSCOSMOS, explored the captivating intersection of Eros and Cosmos, themes seldom linked in monotheistic cultures.

This ability enabled us to design a comprehensive corporate identity for Uniq Capital, an independent global financial firm specializing in customized solutions. We provided strategic branding, corporate design, and content creation, utilizing Arizona Medium, Regular, and Basel Grotesk Regular for web readability. Our team developed marketing collaterals, a responsive website, and a cohesive iconographic style, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand presence.

Looking back, we’re thrilled to present one of our unrevealed projects for the esteemed NY and Paris-based gallery, Demisch Danant.

Founded in 2005 by Suzanne Demisch and Stephane Danant, the gallery specializes in 20th-century French design, focusing on the late 1950s through the 1970s. Showcasing iconic designers like Maria Pergay, Pierre Paulin, and Joseph-André Motte, their curated exhibitions beautifully reference the architecture and interiors of the era.

Our collaboration involved crafting the visual identity and the exhibition catalogue for the “Made in France” exhibition. This project featured a complex editorial production with multiple “cahiers” and original constructions, perfectly reflecting the gallery’s dedication to the intersection of architecture, design, and art.

Looking back at one of our art book designs for Swiss artist Christian Lutz, “Insert Coins” was released by editor André Frère in May 2016.

The city’s lucrative economy and ever-growing population make it an attractive employer. This stronghold of mafia and prostitution combines extremes and excesses, where gambling and s*x prevail, and fates are decided by poker or roulette.”

The Gaze of the Swiss Neutral Mission in the Korean Demilitarized Zone

We are happy to share this new book project for Swiss artist-researcher Denise Bertschi.
STATE FICTION reflects on the role and construction of the Swiss “neutral” national identity, focusing on the Swiss military mission in the DMZ and the images they produced during their stay, from the 1950s to the 1980s. Several essays on the topic from Heonik Kwon, Hans-Ulrich Jost and Bertschi herself, accompany the photographic and cinematographic material.
