We will hold our last yoga class of the summer at the this Saturday, at 10 am. Join us for a special class which will include a vinyasa yoga flow, breathwork, meditation and a sound journey with a gong and other instruments. You can sign up through the link in bio.
To mark on August 19, I will be offering multiple FREE one-on-one mindfulness workshops on this day to humanitarians interested in learning breathing, meditation, and mindfulness techniques tailored to their specific goals and needs. The 30-minute sessions will be held online via Zoom.
World Humanitarian Day is commemorated every year on August 19 to mark the anniversary of the terrorist attack in the UN headquarters in Baghdad and to pay respect to all humanitarians who have lost their lives or have been injured while carrying out their work. This day also honors all humanitarians delivering life-saving assistance, protection, and other aid to people in need.
This offer is open to anyone who is currently working or has previously worked for a humanitarian organization anywhere in the world.
The goal of these sessions is to thank and honor humanitarians for their work and to empower them by providing them with simple yet powerful breathing and mindfulness techniques to improve their wellbeing.

Our last yoga class at the United Nations Beach & Port Club for this summer will be on Saturday, August 24 at 10:00 am.
This will be a special farewell class with a vinyasa yoga flow, breathing exercises, a meditation and a longer immersive sound bath featuring gongs, singing bowls, handpans, and more.

Practice this breathing exercise anytime you would like to relax and activate your parasympathetic nervous system.
Inhale through your nose and exhale for longer than you inhale. You can inhale for four seconds and exhale for eight or you can inhale for three and exhale for six or some other variation. Exhaling for longer than we inhale promotes relaxation and reduces stress.

It is important to seek out and create moments of stillness, mindfulness and reflection.
In such a fast-paced and accelerated world, where we are constantly bombarded with notifications and distractions, we can greatly benefit from connecting to ourselves, our minds, souls and bodies.
Such moments of mindfulness allow us to choose our thoughts, actions, and states of consciousness so we are not simply reacting to external things throughout our days but proactively choosing how we want to live.
Pranayama is one of the eight limbs of yoga. Although it is often translated as “breathing exercises” its meaning in Sanskrit is far more comprehensive.
In Sanskrit, Pranayama stands for the expansion and control of our life force and life energy. In the yoga tradition, we recognize that conscious breathing and the use of specific breathing techniques can help us regulate our nervous system and optimize our energy and vitality.

A lot of emphasis is placed on the practice of yoga on the mat, on the yoga poses we make and on the state of our mind and body during the practice. But yoga can and should also be practiced off the mat.
We should be mindful of our mind, body, breath, thoughts and actions throughout the day, not only during our class or personal practice.
Yoga is a state of being that we can choose to have at any moment - while commuting, in meetings, in moments of joy or tension, and when we are with our friends, family, partners, loved ones and colleagues.
Celebrate International Yoga Day with us on Friday, June 21 at 7:00 am with an early morning yoga, breathwork and meditation workshop. This class will include energizing practices that will help us start our day with more energy and vitality, while also reducing stress and tension.

Sounds and vibrations can be used in therapeutic ways, to facilitate shifts in consciousness, boost our health and wellbeing, and much more. We host sound baths and sound journeys, and frequently incorporate sound therapy into our yoga classes to enhance their benefits.
Studies on sound therapy have shown that it can reduce stress, improve sleep, reduce pain, enhance mental clarity and focus, and much more.
