Echinacea 🩷🧡🩷
Love this pink & orange combo and how the flower petals hang so delicately under the spiky orange centres
She’s a beauty in the garden - a favourite of bees and butterflies- and also amazing medicinal herb.
The slugs got almost all of mine this spring 😢 - this one is from - a beautiful selection of pick-your-own flowers just 25 minutes from Lausanne. If you haven’t been yet - go! 🩷

Summer creams 💛 Scabiosa ochroleuca and Pieris rapae (cabbage white)
Testing my new amazing macro lens kindly gifted by my brother !… 😮❤️
Watch out for more photos soon!..😉
Hope you are enjoying your summer gardens...

Allium drumsticks or Allium sphaerocephalon - another of my faves for beautiful long lasting summer colour and easy to care for plants !

They start off green, with and edging of purple, then turn completely purple over the summer..

Do you have a favourite allium?…
Get some bulbs for this autumn - the drumsticks are small, so easy to plant and great bang for you buck as you get delivered a LOT when you order from .nl .

Astrantia « Roma »
Such beauty in these dainty petals ! 🩷
Long week of conferences, presentations and logistics so now just enjoying the garden, despite the rain and cool temperatures.
Happy gardening all and have a lovely weekend x.

Loving the beautiful feathery petals of Hannah’s Parrot tulips from
All of her beautiful tulips found new homes at the village fete last Saturday …but I did have to keep a few for myself too ;-)
For someone who has never really had “a thing” for tulips - I am completely besotted with these!… and although I can’t wait for our summer blooms to arrive in the garden, I am sad to see these beauties go…
However, something to look forward to next spring ! 😍☺️
Happy long Ascension weekend to those of you who have one!
I will be weeding, admiring, potting up some seeds and … brushing the Guinness 😉😂.

Are you growing a cut flower patch?
I started one two years ago as I can’t bring myself to cut the flowers in the beds.
At the same time, I discovered an amazing flower farm locally, run by Hannah And Cyril at . Hannah’s flowers are just beautiful. Please look her up !
Here is a beautiful combo of Wildgardenlove and - available tomorrow morning at the Fete de Mai au Mont sur Lausanne from 9h - be quick ! .

Have enjoyed admiring these beauties so much these past few weeks - incredible to watch as they open up to the size of huge peony with a beautiful yellow centre and then their vase life - incredible !
Tulip “Chato” from 🩷

Well - hello again from Wildgardenlove ! 💚

Slight technical issues meant I had lost access to my IG account for the past 5 months 😳

But here we are again, back in time for Spring ! Our main bed still looks pretty bare…as things start to wake up. Here are a few pics from today…how is spring springing with you?

Photos are: main flower bed, fenced in to keep the 80kg adorable Newfie out (Guinness), Veronica and a creeping Phlox in a pot and Dreamer and Chato tulips from - they open beautifully like Peonies!
Have a wonderful weekend and looking to catching up..

October garden - Fennel, Linaria and Gaura…. Still bringing some colour to the fading autumnal borders.
Summer was harsh and dry and the plants have definitely suffered - in addition to not getting enough care and attention from me since I changed job. I have missed spending time in the garden and the big autumn tangle that awaits me now needs some tlc 😉😂.

Evening pinks
Just love it at the end of a day when the last of the sunshine lights up the garden, don’t you?
Alliums, carthusian pinks, cepharia gigantea and achillea in this pic
Have been away from the garden these past couple of weeks - in the beautiful UK for a proud graduation moment and then to the Alps for a running adventure along the high mountain passes lined with edelweiss and beautiful mountain flowers (see story for some pics..)
Have a wonderful Sunday 💗.

Friday front garden jumble!
Echinops ritro 'Veitch's Blue', Scabiosa ochroleuca and Allium sphaerocephalon
Have a wonderful end of week 💙

Summer evenings in the garden
Nothing quite like them …
The fading light, the ever lasting summer evening, the blur of shape and form, the scent of delicate honeysuckle and the blackbird singing us to sleep… …nothing quite like a beautiful summer’s eve! 💗
Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend 💗.

Linaria purpurea | Purple toadflax
I love this beautiful perennial that grows like a “weed” . The bees and bumble bees love it too, and it self seeds freely around the sunny beds of the garden. Can recommend letting this grow in your garden if it self seeds.
Also managed to now get a pink version going, thanks to some seeds from 💗
More wildgardenlove pics from today in stories..
Have a wonderful weekend ! .

Catmint and cow parsley

Nepeta Faassenii 'Six Hills Giant’ with Anthriscus sylvestris. Love the combo of these two together. And both plants allow other flowers to pop up in between, so I have planted alliums that are coming up now and scabious that are popping up amongst the clouds of cow parsley seed heads. I’ll pull some of the cow parsley out and leave some for the seed heads. If I leave it all in, the cow parsley may just take over..😂 (which it almost already has..)
Happy Wednesday ! .

04/06/2023

Onobrychis viciifolia or common Sainfoin - a favourite of mine for the garden and discovered thanks to the wonderful (if you haven’t yet been.. you just have to go!)

Sainfoin not only is a magnet for insects, it also flowers nearly all summer long, and is an amazing nitrogen fixer. Its roots pe*****te to great depths and pull nutrients up from the subsoil. Drought resistant, its
extended flowering period and the fact that sainfoin produces more honey than any other legume makes it invaluable to pollinators, attracting a wide range of bumble and honey bees, butterflies and many other invertebrates. Bees feeding on sainfoin produce higher yields of honey.
And - if you are tempted to pick a few to bring inside in a vase, it has a great vase life too - all in all: a winner! 💗

Enjoy your Sunday! .

29/05/2023

The right now, within its «Guinness» protection barriers 😉😂🥰
The joy of a blackbird in song, scent of sweet cow parsley and sight of a bumble bee manouvering into a lupin - the joys of May! 💗
Enjoy your Monday evening 💜.

Pretty in pink - pink tulips sprinkled with a few raindrops
!
These tulips from have been absolutely INCREDIBLE this year! They have lasted weeks in the garden, and are still going strong, and the ones I have cut have lasted at least 7 days if not 10 in a vase! 🥰 They’ve opened up into delicious amazing peony lookalikes and their colour… 💗💗💗
Hope you are having a beautiful Sunday and Fête des Mamans / Mother’s Day to all the Mums in Switzerland and US..!

Centaurea montana / Perennial cornflower
Such a striking blue against the fresh spring greens in the garden. Love this plant for its generosity all summer long. Will flower from May to October here and self seed.
The 🐝 love it too, and I don’t know about you, but for me it’s always got a kind of 1920s / Art deco look to it somehow!
Have a fab end of week ! .

Cornus kousa 'Miss Satomi’
Planted about 5 years ago - and suddenly in her element and showing off a beautiful bloom this year!
Today was a lot of picking tulips and making bouquets up, gazing in wonder at the spring growth that seems to shoot up overnight and revelling in the flower buds forming.!
Tomorrow is about planting our my seedlings, re-sowing those seeds again that I managed to scorch and burn last week and more dog walking..
And a little coronation highlight viewing!
Have a lovely weekend all 💗 and enjoy the long wkend for those in the UK - one more day to garden! What are you going to use it for?….

The Aveyron tulips open a little more each day: day 4 and they are looking more like peonies 💗
message me if you’d like a bouquet of 6, 8, 10, 12….
envoyez moi un message si vous aimeriez un bouquet chez vous aussi !

30/04/2023

Tulip Aveyron - the first of the doubles are finally, finally here! And so worth the wait! 💗
Have a lovely Sunday ! Back to weeding for me, and a dip in the lake for Guinness 😉.

29/04/2023

Menton tulips 💗
I planted these several years ago (from ) and love them for their elegance and height- and they come back every year..!!!
The double tulips are stubbornly closed tight and refusing to open for the weekend !
Lots of weeding to do and seedlings to pot on…
Have a lovely weekend! .

23/04/2023

Have loved all the new narcissi popping up this spring- and they are still going!
Here are a few of them: Cum laude, Thalia, Mount Hood and Cheerfulness.
They all have a great vase life and have brightened up these past rainy days!…
Today’s garden work included : planting out sweet peas (bit of a dare here at 700m altitude, with risk of frost..), weeding the veg patch (which I am turning into another flower patch!), planting out some seedlings into my makeshift garden tent, getting my seeds into pots (CANNOT WAIT!..) and discovering that some of the beautiful peony tulips I ordered last autumn are, in fact coming up as… plain simple yellow 😳😂😭
Happy digging/weeding/sitting/tea drinking this Sunday 💗.
