How To Stop Concealer From Creasing Under Your Eyes

Your under-eyes are one of the areas most prone to creasing.

The first step to prevent your concealer from settling into those crevasses under your eyes is primer. You can use an eye cream as a primer since it can easily absorb into your skin. If you do this, you should give it a few minutes to thoroughly soak into your skin before you go in with a concealer. However, if you're in a rush, you can press a blotting paper or tissue under your eye to remove excess product.

Once your eye area is ready for concealer, go in with a liquid formulation. A stick or cream concealer will crease easier in your under-eye area. Try not to apply the concealer too close to your lashes. Instead, you can blend your concealer up to your lash line to prevent using too much product.

Use a damp makeup sponge for a flawless finish. You can also use your fingertip, but make sure to use your ring finger since it doesn't apply a lot of pressure to this delicate skin.

Set Your Concealer

After you have applied your concealer to your face and under-eyes, it's time to set it and forget it. However, it can be easy to mess this step up, so try to remember the less is more rule.

If you apply too much powder in your under-eye area, specifically, it won't have the desired effect. A small amount of translucent powder though across your face can help prevent creasing throughout the day. Reach for a fluffy powder brush to apply it. Before you set it with powder, though, give your concealer a few minutes to settle in your creases. Once it's had some time, dab it out with a tissue, then go in with powder.

The other way you can set your face is with a setting spray. A setting spray will help lock your makeup in place and help prevent it from sliding into those creases throughout the day.
