A fascinating project for an authentic kebab house is being created in a Swiss shopping center.

The architecture of this unique restaurant takes up the formal language of the Mesopotamian space and interprets it in a contemporary way through the use of reduced and handmade building materials.

Copper engraving and adobe, as central elements of this building project, give the place authenticity and honesty, which are reflected in every detail.

The luxury suites of the Mandarin Oriental are being revitalized in a historic house, originally an investor's residence.

Selectively, a symbiosis of different usage forms is being developed, which can be combined with each other as needed.

Bahnhofstrasse Lucerne

The promenade "Bahnhofstrasse" is located between the Jesuit Church and the main railroad station of Lucerne.

Together with Planikum AG Selektiv develops the landscape architecture of the Bahnhofstrasse. The promenade should get also a public space, between the theater Lucerne and the Jesuit Church.

This public space will be enriched with new trees, open furnitures and a new kiosk in the center of this area. The kiosk building offers catering facilities and storage rooms.

The Bahnhofstrasse will be calmed down and will be a promenade as well as a meeting place.

A new place for public events, markets and meeting point for all visitors next to the beautiful river canal Reuss is are creating.

Sneak preview; the selek&iv office in Munich

In the middle of Munich, on one of the most exciting and colorful streets of the city, we have managed after years of perseverance and a lot of patience to find the right place for our future office.

Between the Lenbachhaus, the Technical University of Munich and the inspiring service offers of the street, we will open our new office in May 2023.

With this project, we have made it our mission to bring architecture into the street space and make it more approachable for everyone. We would thus like to give something valuable back to the street!

The office is in a historic house and the space has two large storefronts facing two different streets.

The "work desk" suddenly takes on a new meaning!

The historical geometry of the room does not tolerate the formal language of a work table, the "table" does not seem to belong and does not do justice to the architecture of the building.

For this reason, selek&iv thinks of the table as an independent "body", rather than a piece of furniture in the room. The table becomes an "organ" and becomes the center of the geometry of the space. This body is completely covered with a fabric from the company , to give appropriate meaning to the theme of "organ".

2nd place

Lake Walen is a popular recreational near by Zurich.
A canal leads to the Walensee accompanied by a pedestrian promenade.
The canal is to be made accessible on both sides. For this purpose a competition for a pedestrian bridge was announced.

The concept of the pedestrian bridge is to lead a light and restrained footbridge with minimal curvature of the arch line to bring it in harmony with the existing topography. This also results in a pleasant walking experience for pedestrians.

A single slender box girder at the side of the bridge is sufficient to carry the bridge 60m over the water channel.

Selektiv develops a penthouse for an art lover. The big challenge is to harmonize living space (living room) and service space (kitchen) in one and the same room.

For this purpose, selektiv develops a kitchen that presents itself as a sculpture in the living room. The kitchen visually disappears from sight and the living room becomes an art and living space.

FUTURE VISION of an architectural office for Selektiv Studio.

Selectively want to bring architecture into the street space.

That's why we started a research program on what an architecture office should look like to make architecture more accessible to people.

Architecture constantly surrounds us in everyday life, forms space and lives cultures. We want to make visible how these processes arise and what it takes to create habitats.

The office is to be selectively placed in the pedestal area of a street space. It must be visible and, above all, easily accessible.

Large shop windows provide insight into the planning processes of the architects. In the front of the offices there is an exhibition of architecture and art books.

This is accompanied by a coffee offer in collaboration with Barista specialists from the area. Material patterns and architectural models show how architects conduct research in order to develop substantial architecture.

In the back of house there are workspaces of the architects, which are also occasionally in the front part and become approachable to people whose interest in architecture has been awakened.

This is a future model of how to selek&iv will position itself in the future.
