OPEN LETTER FROM A STUDENT TO THE TEACHER ADDRESSED TO FERDINAND NGOH NGOH, MINISTER OF STATE, SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE PRESIDENCY OF THE REPUBLIC

Dear teacher,
I have read the letter you sent to the ME-SGPR. I allow myself to intervene because my father works in one of the Ministries of the education sector. As such, he took part in a meeting that Minister of State Ngoh Ngoh held at the Presidency of the Republic on Thursday, March 3, 2022, by order of the Head of State and which was devoted to the examination claims motivated by teachers' collectives and unions. From what my father told me, it appears that the President of the Republic is informed of the situation which prevails in the education sector and closely follows its evolution. It was prescribed that concrete solutions are quickly found to teachers' concerns. Incredible work is being done to this effect by the Prime Minister's Office with the unions and solutions are being found. My father also told me that the main problem is that of 2/3 wages. Some of these issues may be resolved quickly while others will be resolved due to their cost implications.
Please, teacher, now is the time to get back to work as normal and avoid throwing your children out that we are in the thick of it. Many are in disarray due to the suspension of classes. We know that the enemies of our country are out to create disorder. Please don't be manipulated. Our future is in your hands. I know that the President of the Republic will find solutions adapted to your grievances. In the meantime, take back the chalk and the lessons please.
I am counting on you, dear teacher, because you are undoubtedly a parent of a student. Thank you for your understanding.

Douala, Yaoundé Students join teachers in strike action

Students take to the streets in the towns of Doula in the Littoral région of Cameroon and Yaoundé capital of the nation center region of Cameroon .

The student most of which are from government secondary schools carried messages demanding that the government should solve the problems of their teachers who have been on a seat down strike for close to two weeks now

It’s three years now since Cameroonians in the north west region of Cameroon in Ngarbuh lost 21 tribes men in a massacre

How did we get here? That question we can’t answer because mankind has been blinded by brain wash, money, and desire to keep power and prove strength this plunge us into deep mourning on the 14 of February 2020 when the people of Ngarbuh woke up to see the lifeless bodies mounting to 21 in number of their children, wife and unborn babies, husbands, uncles, fathers, aunties, every body was affected the land soak with blood from the skin it is high time we shine our eyes to this senseless war.

I want to say one other challenge that we face is simply that we must find an alternative to war and bloodshed. Anyone who feels, and there are still a lot of people who feel that way, that war can solve the social problems facing mankind is sleeping through a great revolution. President Kennedy said on one occasion, "Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind." The world must hear this. I pray to God that America will hear this before it is too late, because today we’re fighting a war.

Cameroon: Gov't strives to end shisaha
Stakeholders involved in the fight against drug consumption have pledged to harness more efforts to curb the proliferation and consumption of chicha among youths which is increasingly on the rise.
Meeting last weekend for a workshop of actors in to***co control, discussions were focused on ways to discourage the consumption of to***co and its derivatives.
The workshop, organized by the National Drugs Control Committee in collaboration with the World Health Organisation brought to the fore an intense debate on the control of the consumption of chichi especially among youths.
Discussions focused on both the taxation of the material and the components of this to***co derivative of to***co.
Participants said above the difficult control of this product, there is the problem of compounds absorbed by its consumers and which are both strange and even overdosed mixtures. During the discussions, it was recalled that the puffs of smoke from this product are 3 to 4 times more harmful than those from conventional ci******es with the risk of cancer even higher. Thus, regulations, identification of places of consumption of these products, etc. were strictly taken into consideration during discussions.
Presiding over the workshop, Boukar Oumate, Head of the Legal Affairs and Litigation Division at the Ministry of Public Health recommended a multisectoral meeting be convened to examine in depth the issue which has become a real danger for the youth.
What taxation to recommend to discourage the consumption of to***co ?
Discussions at the workshop were also focused on the type of taxation and the structure of the taxation of to***co products capable of reducing the volumes imported or produced locally and, in turn, reducing consumption. An inventory of the situation was visualized through the data collection survey on aspects of the economy, taxation and trade carried out by Thierry Germain Etoundi, consultant to the World Health Organisation.
