"If you are a person living with disability like myself and you are still having the following conceptions, then this write up is for you.

Are you that person living with disability who thinks others can only help you but you can't help others?
Then you have to reverse that thinking.

Are that person who thinks you don't have a say due to your challenge?
Then i want you to know that you have a say and opinions to your live and situations.

Are you looking down on yourself because of your disability?
Then i want you to know that no can carry you up if you don't carry yourself first.

Misconceptions people have about individuals of less height🧍
They are children or less intelligent: Height doesn't dictate maturity or intelligence. Short people can be just as accomplished and capable.

They are weak: Many short people have impressive strength and athletic ability.

They lack confidence: There's no link between height and confidence. Short people can be strong, assertive, and successful.

They want to be taller: Not everyone! Some people are perfectly happy with their height and find constant comments about it intrusive.

They need help with everything: Short people can reach things! They may have developed workarounds or simply ask for assistance when needed.

Remember, a person's height is just one physical characteristic. It doesn't define their abilities, personality, or potential.
They are resourceful, problem-solvers, and can achieve anything they set their minds to.

LABOUR IS INCLUSIVE!🦽🦽
High fives for everyone! At SHAFE FOUNDATION, we believe the best teams are built on all kinds of talent. Just like a band sounds best with different instruments, every workplace needs different skills to succeed.

Someone in a wheelchair might be a whiz at computers, while another person might fix things or help customers with a smile. No matter what, everyone has something special to offer. Maybe they're super organized or great at coming up with new ideas. By welcoming everyone and making sure they have what they need, workplaces unlock a hidden box of amazing helpers!

Picture the delivery person with a hearing aid, always on time and friendly. Imagine the baker with a learning disability creating delicious treats that everyone loves. When we celebrate everyone's contributions, it makes everyone feel like part of the team. That's the key to a happy and successful workplace!

.In God's Vineyard, Everyone Bears fruit 🍑🍓
Happy Sunday our beloved followers ☺️

In John 15:1-3, Jesus uses the metaphor of a vine and branches to explain our connection to God. He says the Father is like a vinedresser who prunes (cuts back) some branches to help them bear more fruit. But He doesn't discard any branch entirely!

This teaches us a beautiful lesson about inclusion. Just as each branch contributes uniquely to the vine, every person has value and gifts to offer, regardless of their abilities.

People with disabilities may not always bear fruit in the same way others do. Yet, their strengths, perspectives, and experiences enrich the lives of everyone around them. By offering support and embracing their unique contributions, we create a more vibrant and fruitful "vineyard" for all.

Take Home Message: Let's celebrate the diversity in God's garden! Everyone has something special to offer. How can we better include and support those with disabilities in our community?

Mastering the Art of Wheelchair Assistance!🦽🦽
Ever wondered how to best support someone who uses a wheelchair? You're not alone!

We're here to turn you into a wheelchair whiz with some essential tips:🌟🌟
Respect the Ride! A wheelchair is an extension of someone's personal space. Always ask permission before touching or pushing the chair.

Communication is Key! Engage directly with the person, not their caregiver. Ask how you can help and listen to their preferences.

Become a Terrain Tamer! Be aware of potential obstacles like curbs or uneven surfaces. Offer assistance if needed, but remember to follow their lead. Safety first!

Level Up Your Listening! Sometimes, the biggest help is simply offering a listening ear. People with disabilities face unique challenges - be there to support and empower.

Remember: Small gestures can make a big difference. Just give them a little push of encouragement.

Tuesday Talk:Words🗣️🗣️🗣️ That Build Bridges, Not Walls!

This Tuesday, let's focus on fostering an inclusive environment with the power of language!🗣️ Here are some person-first terms to celebrate the abilities of people with disabilities:

"Uses a wheelchair" instead of "confined to a wheelchair."
"Lives with a disability" instead of "suffers from" (disability is a part of life, not a burden).
"Person who is blind/deaf" instead of just "blind" or "deaf."
"People with visual/hearing impairments" Focuses on the type of impairment.
Together, let's foster an environment where everyone feels heard!

Monday Motivation💪: Redefining Ability!

This week, let's challenge the way we think about "disability." It's not a limitation, but a different way of experiencing the world. People with disabilities often possess incredible strengths💪:

Resilience: Overcoming daily hurdles builds immense inner strength.
Creativity: Finding solutions to everyday challenges fosters innovative thinking.
Determination: The drive to succeed fuels remarkable accomplishments.

By celebrating these strengths and fostering inclusion, we unlock incredible potential.

Let's create a world where everyone can thrive, regardless of ability!

🗣️🗣️🗣️Seeing the World in Brilliant Colors: Autism Awareness Month!

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental difference, not a disease. People on the spectrum experience the world in unique ways, often with heightened sensitivity to sensory input or a different approach to social interaction. This month, let's celebrate neurodiversity and embrace the incredible strengths that come with autism.

While social challenges are common, individuals with ASD can possess exceptional focus, detail-oriented minds, and a passion for specific interests. They may excel in art, music, technology, or scientific fields, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative solutions.

By promoting understanding and acceptance, we can create a more inclusive world. This means being patient in communication, respecting personal space, and celebrating the unique ways people on the spectrum learn and interact. Let's light it up blue for Autism Acceptance Month and celebrate the vibrant colors autism brings to our world 🌍.
