"Depression is a very real illness that affects many
across the globe, and many people that haven't experienced it themselves wonder why does this happen, even to people that seem to "have it all". 🤷🏻‍♀️
😞 Well, the truth is that having material things or people that love you, doesn't make you immune. Depression messes up with your mind, and you can't see what is out there for you as "happiness". It is your own mind eating you alive from the inside out. Depression can be a result of a plethora of things, and it is so complex and different for everyone, as people are. It has so many layers, and it can come in waves too.
🤗 We've seen more than enough cases that make obvious that you can be an overachieving, bubbly, functional adult, and still be depressed, and this is why it is important to look for help. If you are on the other side of things, it is also important to be kind. You really never know what others are going through.
😢 Unfortunately, there's still a lot of taboo and judging going around 😞 Imaging you reach out to a friend to talk about your struggles, and your friend says something like: " but you have everything", "just be positive", "just be grateful" or "it's all in your mind"... These comments don't really help, and leave you feeling worst than before, and as a result many people struggling don't look for help 💔
😞 It is very difficult to believe that you are not alone when you are depressed. But, in fact, you are not alone! There are people that love you and care for you, and are willing to go the extra mile to help you ❤ So, if you are feeling depressed, please, look for help!, speak up! Call a friend! And if you know someone that is having a hard time, there are tools for you to learn to be supportive. Don't assume your people around you are "ok" because you see them cracking jokes, dancing or smiling, because behind those acts, can be hiding a broken heart." (by Abreu)

Many people with dyslexia also have Executive Functioning problems.
This is why scaffolding ,chunking instructions down, electronic diaries etc are so important.
