He approached me like a sheep with such an irresistible tender voice and I didn't realize when every word that came out from my lips was 'yes'. Few months later, he knelt before me and requested for a finger which I offered instantaneously . Little did I know that I had offered myself on a platter to be taken to an abattoir for slaughtering . He wounded my heart, not once, not twice and not even thrice. He knew how to play with words and in my naivety, I always fell. Little by little, I found myself wrapped in the embers of the arms of a beast in the name of marriage. Four times in a year, I visited the hospital not to check how healthy the baby in my womb was but to clean out the one whose life had been forcefully taken by my husband through his wrestling prowess that could only be demonstrated on my fragile and feeble body.
I found myself screaming like the souls in the Titanic wreck void of help. I could not allow another human take away my life without putting on a fight. So, I picked up a weapon feared by all and I became what I was not.
