Last Friday, our IB History students led a poignant reflection through the solemn tradition of Remembrance Day at DCB. After a heartfelt tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, explaining the origins of the day as a commemoration of the death and destruction of World War I, we turned our attention to ongoing conflicts that do not seem to make it into the mainstream news.

Our students fostered awareness and advocated for lasting peace – one that many of us experience, and many others still seek. Let us remember, let us learn, and let us work towards a world where the echoes of war are replaced by the whispers of peace.

🏐🏆 Exciting News from our Varsity Volleyball Team! 🏐🏆

Our talented Varsity Volleyball players showcased exceptional skill and determination at the ACAMIS tournament in Hong Kong earlier this month.

🥇 The Varsity Boys emerged as champions, maintaining an undefeated record and dropping only one set throughout the tournament!

🏆 Meanwhile, the Varsity Girls fought valiantly, securing a well-deserved 2nd place in a closely contested final.

🦁🌟 What a way to end the season—super proud of our awesome teams! 🌟🙌

Last week, our Houses kicked off the new academic year with a bang, revved up and in high spirits thanks to our inter-House competitions!

New students were inducted into our vibrant House life, with Senior School Houses flexing their muscles in our annual Tug-of-War showdown, while our Junior School students battled it out in a series of thrilling contests. 🤝🤼‍♂️

Well done to the incredible students and staff who gave their all in these friendly rivalries! It's moments like these that showcase the power of teamwork and perseverance, bringing our community closer. 🧡

🌍✨Led by the Local to Global Prefects and teacher supervisors Ms Harris and Mr Douglas, Chasing Corals was a documentary screening event on the 2nd of June that featured Chen Chen, Pekin University professor, d’Arcy Lunn, EiM Global Citizenship lead, and the titular documentary, Chasing Coral. 🏝 🌿 The event aimed to educate the participants about the importance of our coral reefs, the dangers faced by them, and the actions that can be taken to prevent further endangerment. 🌊🐟🐬🐋🐳💦

Plans for future screenings with a more diverse range of documentaries are already in place, so we encourage everyone to keep an eye out for upcoming notices! 🌍✨

The first blooms of spring on DCB campus! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful break and we look forward to welcoming all students and staff back to school next Monday.

STEM is fun and starts at an early age! As we begin a new learning unit on products and processes, our Early Years students learn how to make a flat-pack chair from Mr Mathieson of Senior School at SE21.
