Applications for globe valves: Part 1
Globe valves are widely used in many occasions. However, according to the different structural types of the globe valve, the applicable occasions are also different.
1. Needle globe valve: is used for precise flow control. The disc is usually integrated with the stem, which has a needle-like head that fits with the valve seat and is very precise. Moreover, the pitch of the stem thread of the needle globe valve is thinner than that of the stem thread of the general ordinary globe valve. Typically, needle globe valve seat bores are smaller in size than tubing. Therefore, it is usually limited to pipelines with a small nominal diameter and is used more often for sampling valves.
2. DC globe valve: the stem and channel of the DC globe valve are at a certain angle, and the sealing surface of the valve seat is also at a certain angle to the inlet and outlet channel, and the valve body can be made into an integral or separate type. The valve body split globe valve uses two valve bodies to clamp the valve seat in the middle for easy maintenance. These globe valves allow the fluid to hardly change direction and have minimal flow resistance in globe valves. The seat and disc sealing surface can be welded with carbide to make the entire valve more resistant to erosion and corrosion, which is very suitable for pipeline control in alumina production processes, as well as pipelines with coking and solid particles.
