This year, we celebrated a momentous occasion – our 90th anniversary. The special event at our company headquarters in November allowed us to reflect on our incredible journey. We were honored to have esteemed partners during this celebration.
One of DEIF's standout achievements in 2023 was winning the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award in the ESG/sustainability category. This prestigious recognition, secured at the national final in Copenhagen, underscores our commitment to sustainability, marked by a minimum of 15% growth and alignment with extensive sustainability objectives.

Innovation has been a critical focus, and we are thrilled to introduce the iE 250 intelligent energy controller at the end of Q1. The board members of DEIF recently enjoyed an exciting visit to Vestværftet ApS and Vest-El A/S in Hvide Sande, gaining a unique understanding of the construction of cutting-edge hybrid fishing vessels. Commencing with a tour of the bridge and engine room of the state-of-the-art hybrid fishing vessel Aksel Johan, currently under construction at Vestværftet, the visit proceeded to Vest-el's switchboard workshop.
Here, the board had the opportunity to examine the main switchboard for the upcoming vessel, Ingenborg, providing a glimpse into advanced technologies such as DC busbar, drive systems, and the DEIF energy management system. Ingenborg, destined for a Norwegian shipowner, showcases innovative maritime solutions.

After a massive effort from many colleagues and external partners over the past several months, we are ready to cut the ribbon and inaugurate our new state-of-the-art factory. It’s a significant milestone and will undoubtedly bring DEIF to the front with an efficient, competitive, and scalable production geared for growth.

The new production factory will be officially opened on the 4th of January, and all employees in Denmark have been invited to celebrate the opening.

As long as your PLCs work as they should and your requirements don’t change very much, being tied to one particular PLC hardware vendor is usually not a problem. You know what you’ve got and what you’ll be getting if you need more. But you may well find yourself in a situation where it would be advantageous to consider switching to another PLC brand:

Even in the absence of support or documentation from the OEM, Kyros Power International FZE, successfully revitalized and activated a power plant at an Iraqi steelworks. The crucial role played by a comprehensive DEIF control solution and proficient support was instrumental in restoring the war-damaged STX engines of the plant to operational status.

DEIF has won the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2023 in the ESG/sustainability category!

Recently, at the vibrant and celebratory national final of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year in Copenhagen, DEIF secured the prestigious award in the ESG category. This category emphasizes companies achieving a minimum of 15% growth, with their development and expansion rooted in documented aspirations and objectives aligned with the extensive sustainability agenda.

We take immense pride in being acknowledged and honored for our outstanding efforts in sustainability—both in our operations and through the creation of sustainable products and solutions—a heartfelt thank you to all our employees for their contributions to this ongoing development.

Onstage, Christian Nielsen, Valdemar Foss, and Julia Foss graciously accepted the award.

The jury writes in its justification for awarding the ESG award to DEIF:

"The jury had no doubts when the winners of the ESG category had to be found among the otherwise strong field of companies with both great ambitions and great results.

DEIF stood out in several areas. They have a basic philosophy that they WANT to make a difference and that they CAN make a difference, and that the desire to make a difference must be the basis for the long-term development of the company. And it doesn't stop here, because they have put action behind their words and created results that are not just beneficial for themselves, but for society and the world around them.

The jury has emphasized the concrete measures that have been taken to show that the company's values ​​are more than decorative letters on a website. Among other things, the alternative energy sources, and that there is an ambitious goal of being CO2-neutral within a few years. The focus on CO2 reduction can be seen both in their own production and in what the products do for a better future.

The jury goes on to say: "DEIF involves everyone in the company in the way it approaches the world. No employee is in any doubt under which set of values ​​DEIF operates. At the same time, they actively engage in the local community around them by e.g. supporting culture and sport.”

DEIF Denmark recently had the pleasure of hosting a workshop with Caterpillar Inc. Wimborne that delved into the fascinating realms of cyber security and flexibility, two crucial pillars in today's Maritime solutions.

The highlight of the day was the unveiling of our cutting-edge controller platform, the iE250! This innovative solution is set to transform the way we control and optimize processes.

We're thankful for the engagement, enthusiasm, and insightful discussions from all the attendees. It's clear that Caterpillar is embracing the future with open arms.

In the evening, we took a break from the technical talk and enjoyed some well-deserved social time. Bowling strikes and epic table football showdowns made the night unforgettable!

We are happy to announce that Liam Round, Global Business Development Manager at DEIF is a Speaker for Touchdown Middle East 2023! Liam will Chair the panel Solar in the desert: Renewable Power Investigation on Day 2 of the conference, 22nd November, at 14:30.

Liam Round is a Global Business Development Manager at DEIF, responsible for developing and growing the critical power sector, including hybrid readiness, power management solutions (PMS), data center design, and advisory services. Liam has more than 20 years of experience in power generation and has worked across the Middle East, the Americas, and Europe, giving him a great understanding of the world’s backup power demands and broad experience with strategic alliances, commercial activities, leadership, and engineering. Prior to joining DEIF, Liam worked for companies including Caterpillar, Sulzer, and MAN on some of the world’s biggest and most challenging projects in military, airport, hospital, and data center applications. A trained systems engineer based in the UK, Liam holds Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Status in data center design, is a Project Management Professional (PMP®), and a thought leader regarding renewable adoption.

Yesterday, we celebrated our 90th anniversary at an event held at our headquarters in Skive, Denmark. Customers, suppliers, and partners from all over the world were present for the festivities. They had the opportunity to visit our new and almost-completed factory and listen to exciting speeches by CEO Jenny Braat of Danske Maritime (Danish Maritime) and CEO Lars Sandahl Sørensen of Danish Industry. To us, the celebration was not only an occasion for canapés and toasts. Our CEO, Christian Nielsen, spoke openly of the need for a strengthened joint commitment to the green transition. DEIF owner T**e Foss also took the stage to highlight DEIF's past and present achievements.
