Although coffee is known and consumed throughout the world, it is only grown in a specific area, this area is called the “Coffee Belt.”

It is named this way because the area where coffee is grown around the world is delimited between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. Looking at this area on the globe, it can be seen that it forms a belt.

We might think that countries like the United States, Italy or France, due to their high consumption of coffee, are large producers of it, however, they only import the beans, roast them and distribute them, since their soils and climates are not suitable for coffee trees to survive.

The coffee plant is a plant that requires certain conditions to be able to develop and prosper satisfactorily. These conditions are: tropical climate, warm temperatures, alternating wet and dry cycles, altitude, and soil characteristics. These conditions are only found in the coffee belt.

Life is too short to drink crappy coffee...drink Costa Rican coffee!! 😉

We know so much that today it is possible to leave behind the belief that Europeans discovered a continent and that they also civilized it, because as you could see, the civilization here already existed, but it was something that the Europeans did not have the capacity to understand.

"JULY WEATHER"

This month the speed of the trade winds increases due to the strengthening of a high pressure system in the Atlantic Ocean, which causes the retreat to the south of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which results in increased rainfall in the Caribbean slope, but on the contrary it decrease in the Central Valley and most of the Pacific slope. Precisely, the decrease is due to the "Canicula", which appears as a period of up to 3 weeks with sunnier, warmer and drier weather, which generally begins after July 10th. Canicula is manifested with greater intensity in the North Pacific(Guanacaste), the Central Valley(San Jose), the Los Santos Area(Central mountain range) and the General Valley(Southern region).

"Black-necked Crowned Snake"
(Tantilla Armillata)
A genus of non-poisonous snakes that belong to the subfamily colubrinae. Reaches a lenght of 19 inches when fully mature. It is an oviparous snake and feeds mostly on centipedes. They are distributed throughout Central America and in Costa Rica it can be watched mostly from the central mountain range to the northwest side.
