From Scrunchies to Sustainable Swim: My Journey to Eco-Conscious Design 🪡
For 20 years, I’ve loved creating beautiful things – painting, knitting, sewing it all! As a kid, I even sold scrunchies from leftover fabric. Back then, sustainability wasn’t on my radar.
Fast forward to fashion school, where I discovered my passion for design. But working in the industry, a conflict arose. I loved what I did, but felt guilty about the environmental impact.
Then, during maternity leave, 7 years ago! I found a breakthrough: recycled nylon made from ocean waste like fishing nets! This amazing fabric has UV protection, is sand-resistant, and lasts for years! I envisioned a whole collection for women and girls, but fear of leaving a stable job held me back.
Two years ago, with newfound courage, I took the leap – Gingerit was born!
Today, I’m proud to create high-quality, flattering swimsuits that are kind to our planet. Here I am, rocking my favorite Gingerit suit for 1.5 years – the “Kimono” still looks amazing, even after giving birth!

In Gingerit we don’t want to create more waste! So each of our customers will receive a cute scrunchy made from the left over fabric 🥰♻️💚

יום של רגשות מעורבים. 4 שנים ללכתה של אמי והאזכרה יצאה השנה ביום האישה הבינלאומי. התאריך העברי שלפיו קובעים את האזכרה הוא יומיים אחרי יום הולדת העברי ותמיד סמוך ליום הולדתי הלועזי (ימי הולדת 40-42 לא ממש חגגתי בגלל זה). זה משהו לא ישתנה לעולם. כל יום הולדת יהיה בסימן שמחה ובסימן עצב.
כשקרה היום הנוראי לפני 4 שנים היה זה יום אחרי יום הולדתו של בני דנדון המתוק וביום הולדתו השלישי (יום לפני מותה) ביליתי יום שלם בבית החולים ללוות אותה ברגעיה האחרונים.
איך חוגגים ימי הולדת במצב כזה לא פשוט? עדיין חוקרת ובודקת ומנסה להבין, כמו שאף פעם לא הבנתי את יום הזיכרון שכל כך סמוך לחגיגות יום העצמאות…
