Butterfly House

Casa Mariposa is a project located in the north Pacific of our country, where not only does it have an impressive scenery towards the beautiful coast of Playa San Miguel, but it is also surrounded by abundant Costa Rican tropical forest.

Architecturally speaking, the project seeks to float on the imposing void that is directed towards the coastline, in such a way that it can take advantage not only of the visuals towards the Pacific Ocean, but also towards what corresponds to the tropical forest on the right wing of the property. These two preponderant elements are the perfect complement that we seek to exploit for the surprise factor of the experience generated through the project.

The house has 2690 sqf and two rooms, where as is customary in our projects, we implement great heights, an open plan layout and the tropicalization of the architectural language from the large eaves and adjustable louvers to protect us from the sun and rain, as well as the constant search to create the least possible difference between the internal and external space on our projects.

Enjoying the sunset at the edge of our infinity edge pool that hangs on the void is a great way to finish the day at Casa Mariposa!

Casa Mariposa es un proyecto ubicado en el pacifico norte de nuestro país, donde no solo cuenta un un escenario impresionante hacia la hermosa costa de Playa San Miguel, sino que también esta rodeada de abúndate bosque tropical costarricense.

Arquitectónicamente hablando, el proyecto busca flotar sobre el imponente vacío que se encuentra dirigido hacia la línea costera, de forma que se pueda aprovechar no solo las visuales hacia el océano pacifico, sino también hacia lo que corresponde al bosque tropical en el ala derecha de la propiedad. Estos dos elementos preponderantes son el complemento perfecto que buscamos explotar para con el factor sorpresa de la experiencia generada a través del proyecto.

La vivienda cuenta con 2690 sqf y dos habitaciones, donde como es costumbre en nuestros proyectos, implementamos grandes alturas, disposición de planta abierta y la tropicalización del lenguaje arquitectónico a partir de los grandes aleros y louvers ajustables para protegernos del sol y la lluvia, así como la búsqueda contante de crear la menor diferencia posible entre el espacio interno y externo en todos nuestros proyectos.
