Meet our Chef

Chef Michalis Michaelides discovered his interest in food while spending time in the kitchen with his mother. As a chef, he likes to create upgraded versions of dishes that remind him of those cooking experiences with her. He continued to further hone his skills by attending the Culinary Arts program at the Institute of Hospitality and Catering Arts in 1973, continuing the Culinary program, graduating from the Cyprus Higher Institute of Hospitality, Class of 1974.

Michalis started his professional career with the Hawaii Hotel now Grand Resort (Salaminia Restaurant) as a cook. In just a few years he became the head Sous-Chef of the Restaurant. Other odd jobs followed until he decided to manage his own hotel and kitchen. It was then that his first Executive Chef position would arise as he was chosen to take the helm of the new location Navarria Hotel.

Michalis is a successful business man and Chef decided to leave behind the city and turn to nature by moving to the beautiful Platres village. At the moment he can be found at Kallithea INN as well as Orosimo Snack Bar

An avid farmer, he loves to bring fresh vegetables and seasonal fruit from his orchard to prepare and share with his customers. When not in the kitchen, Michalis loves spending time with family and friends, especially being outdoors and enjoying the ocean.
