💸 The Yan-di Ventures is a prime example of a corporation with a capital "C" in the world of War Robots. True capitalists at heart, they built their entire lifestyle around business and wealth – and thrived because of it. Here are some interesting facts:
1⃣ According to Yan-di philosophy, profit can be found in everything. As true capitalists, they once dominated Earth’s financial markets and continued their ventures even after the Cataclysm.
2⃣ Rather than colonizing Mars, Yan-di constructed a space station in the planet’s orbit. They possess the secret to the most efficient energy production technology and ruthlessly eliminate any threats to it. However, this hasn’t stopped the corporation from selling energy sources to their rivals.
3⃣ Yan-di also control the gold reserves that underpin the Martian economy, providing the foundation for the inter-corporate currency – AU. Yet, no one outside the Yan-di board of directors knows where these gold reserves are stored. Within their society, there is a stark divide between the wealthy descendants of the business elite and the impoverished working class.
4⃣ As for their mechs – true to form, Yan-di bought the technology from other corporations and customized it to suit their needs. They equipped the mechs with groundbreaking stealth systems and phase-shift capabilities.
If War Robots had a hymn, what would it sound like? An AI megamind suggested something like this 🎵

EvoLife is one of the major corporations in the world of War Robots. But what's so special about it? Let's find out!
🌱 EvoLife dominated biotechnology and medicine on Earth. After the Cataclysm, they were the last to leave the planet, only departing when life in their Sanctuaries became unsustainable. On Mars, EvoLife occupies Noctis Labyrinthus, where they continue their experiments.
🦾 Members of EvoLife are arguably the healthiest among all corporations, thanks to bio-mutations and sustainability efforts. All resources are reused and recycled, and every member of society receives genetic upgrades tailored to their designated profession.
If there is a hivemind, EvoLife will be the first to achieve it. Among their other notable inventions are nanobots and corrosion weapons.

🤖 The Icarus Technologies corporation specializes in robotics and telecommunication — these were also their domains on Earth.
1⃣ Icarus occupies the inhospitable area of Mars’ South Pole. Their settlements are highly decentralized, and people spend most of their time in virtual reality. They communicate through it and use it for nearly everything.
2⃣ All manual labor is performed through VR-controlled drones, and every member of Icarus has multiple implants and augmentations to connect to the SolNetwork. It is a true cyberpunk society.
3⃣ By the way, Icarus Technologies invented the teleportation beacon used in robots. It’s based on warp technology (yes, the one that started the Cataclysm and almost destroyed Earth)
On this day 20 years ago, "I, Robot" premiered, a movie loosely based on Isaac Asimov’s 1950 novel of the same name. Since then, it has become a cult classic, and Asimov’s work has helped shape the genre of robot stories as we know it today.
Not only did it introduce the famous Three Laws of Robotics, but Asimov was also the first to invent the word “robotics” itself. His work has inspired and influenced the discussion of ethics in AI development.
While the movie with Will Smith deviates significantly from the novel’s overall plot, the overarching themes remain the same. These themes are still very relevant more than half a century later: empathy, the agency of robots, and the ever-present fear of losing one’s job and purpose because of AI and mechanical creatures.
By the way, “I, Robot” is set in 2035 – only 11 years from now. Do you think humanity is ready?

We continue our deep dive into the world of War Robots. Today, let’s talk about the DCS, or Defense and Security Conglomerate.
1️⃣ Back in the day, when the Earth was still thriving and full of life, the DSC was the apex of global security and the private military market. Just like all other corporations, they worked for no country but profited from all.
2️⃣ When the Cataclysm hit, the DSC’s escape to Mars was a harsh one, full of casualties. To compensate for this, the corporation recruited basically everyone who wished to join. With every uprising of disgruntled personnel, the DSC tightened the screws, eventually transforming into a militarized society with totalitarian control over everything.
3️⃣ Just as the name suggests, the DSC’s forte is defense. And one of their main inventions is the energy shields, completely impenetrable to any type of damage.
4️⃣ The DCS were the first to weaponize giant robots, thus starting an arms race in the world of War Robots. They were also the first to build a Titan.

In the last 10 years, technologies, social platforms, and the pandemic have completely changed the world. And a small mobile game about huge, slow combat machines turned into a legendary project, became a top game in its niche, and won the hearts of millions of players. What a ride!
Let’s take a moment and reminisce on War Robots' 10-year journey alongside the most notable world trends starting from 2014: the games we played, the movies we watched, the events we discussed. Prepare to feel nostalgic (and a bit old).
Happy B-Day, War Robots! 🥳
Blast from the past! Let's take a moment to remember how mechs from War Robots looked a long time ago – with some interesting facts about them to top it off ⬇️
On this day, April 7, 1979, marked the premiere of the Mobile Suit Gundam anime, created by the legendary Yoshiyuki Tomino. Surprisingly, at the time, the show received low ratings and was nearly canceled at some point.
However, over the years, it evolved into a cultural juggernaut and defined the archetype for stories about giant robots. It has spawned approximately 50 anime and movies, 19 manga and novels, and 30 games – and continues to captivate audiences with its amazing stories to this day.
Let's dive into the War Robots lore a little bit. We made a short comic about how it all started ⬇️
When War Robots was first released in 2014, it lacked any lore or story. Now, it has its own universe with tons of characters, cinematics, audio dramas about them, and other cool stuff.
We wrote an article on how we built the game's world and narrative from scratch. Enjoy!

Back in 2018, we launched a process of obtaining an ISBN license. It took several years and tons of work, but we were finally granted the license in 2023. Fun fact: only 27 foreign games were granted an ISBN that year! So now, War Robots is back after a hiatus. Congrats to the dev team and all involved! 👏
