The competition for the MENSA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2024 is underway. The members of Mensa Cyprus have until Wednesday 7 AUGUST 2024, 23:59 Cyprus time, to submit their entry.
Mensa Cyprus is holding a national competition to select the best three entries for the international phase. Entrants must accept all the rules listed below before submitting any photos to Mensa Cyprus at: [email protected]. The theme of the competition is: "FIRE"
THE RULES OF THE COMPETITION ARE:
1. There is no entry fee for this competition.
2. Every entrant of this competition must be a member in good standing of Mensa Cyprus, and must remain a member in good standing for the duration of the competition.
3. Entrants may submit up to three photos. Each photo should be in JPG/JPEG format and not exceed 2 MB.
4. Entries should be e-mailed to: [email protected] not later than 7 AUGUST 2024. When submitting your photo(s) please include your full name, membership number, e-mail address, and the title(s) of your photo(s). Please do not include any information (e.g., name, title) on your photos as labels/tags. Any photos you submit must not contain any writing, watermarks, etc.
5. All entries must be the original work of the entrant and photographed wholly by the entrant. AI-generated images will not be accepted. Any such entry will be disqualified, and any member submitting such images will be banned from entering future competitions. The entrant must own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image submitted.
6. The use of smart or editing tools is possible within the competition rules, as long as these tools do not lead to significant changes to the image as a whole, introduce new information to the image, nor remove information from the image that was captured by the camera.
7. Any promotion of entries is not allowed.
8. The top three entries of Mensa Cyprus will be selected by a professional Judging Panel organized by Mensa Cyprus and led by renown Cypriot photographer Vassos Stylianou. Entries will be judged on how well they conveyed the theme, on the quality of their composition, as well as technical and other considerations. The decision of the Judging Panel is final.
9. The top three entries from Mensa Cyprus will go through to the Mensa International PhotoCup 2024 Final. The closing date for Mensa Cyprus to submit entries to Mensa International for the international phase of the competition, is 31 August 2024. The Mensa International PhotoCup 2024 Final Judging Panel, which includes the Mensa International chairman, will be organized by Mensa International The decision of the Judging Panel is final.
10. Entrants agree that their photos may be exhibited (and otherwise publicized) nationally and internationally, both inside and outside Mensa, and that their names and countries may also be published.
11. Entrants will retain copyright of their photos, but will grant Mensa non-exclusive rights for their publication in Mensa websites, newsletters, social media platforms, journals, photo SIG posters, galleries, exhibitions, and other relevant outlets and events (both virtual and in-person) without any financial reward to the entrant.

EUROPEAN MENSA SCIENCE CAMP 2024
Summer camp organised by Mensa Czechia from 20 - 27 July 2024 for students of age 12 - 19 at the Hotel Holenský Dvůr, near the Austrian border, an original 14th century farmhouse set in a beautiful countryside.
The program consists of lectures, projects, teambuilding activities focused on science and technology, competitions, board games, one-day trip to Austria.

THE MENSA FOUNDATION'S INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Foundation’s scholarship program bases its awards totally on 550-word essays written by the applicants explaining his or her career, academic and/or vocational goals and how they plan to achieve those goals.
The "Ed Vincent international scholarship" provides funds for international students enrolled at accredited colleges or universities in the United States. Eligibility is limited to Mensa members (except American Mensans) or children/dependents of members.
The "Mensa international scholarships" provide funds for international students enrolled at accredited colleges or universities in a country other than the United States. Eligibility is limited to Mensa members (except American Mensa).
The scholarship application process is under way. Applications must be submitted online on or before 11:59 p.m., Central (5:59 GMT), on JANUARY 15, 2024.

MENSA CONSTITUTIONAL REFERENDUM 2023
The Mensa Constitutional Amendment Referendum 2023, is under way. Members in good standing as at 23:59 hours UTC on 10 June 2023, who are eligible to vote in the Referendum, received on 10 July 2023, a voting link: "click here to vote", unique for each member*. Seven amendments to the Constitution of Mensa are proposed by the IBD and submitted to the worldwide membership for voting.
You have until 23:59 UTC on Tuesday 25 July 2023/02:59 Cyprus time on Wednesday 26 July 2023, to cast your vote.

INTERNATIONAL CONSTITUTIONAL REFERENDUM 2023
The International Mensa Constitutional Amendment Referendum 2023, is under way. Members in good standing as at 23:59 hours UTC on 10 June 2023, who are eligible to vote in the Referendum, received on 10 July 2023 a voting e-mail from Civica, the Independent Ballot Supervisory Agency that administers the 2023 Constitutional Amendments on behalf of Mensa International, with subject ‘Mensa International – 2023 Constitutional Amendments’. That e-mail contains a voting link unique for each member*, that leads to the voting site. Seven amendments to the Constitution of Mensa are proposed by the IBD and submitted to the worldwide membership for voting.

MENSA PHOTOGRAPY COMPETITION 2023 🏆
The competition for the nomination of the International Mensa Photographer of the Year 2023 is under way. Mensa Cyprus is holding a national competition to select the best three entries for the international phase. The members of Mensa Cyprus have until Monday 7 AUGUST 2023, 23:59 Cyprus time, to submit their entry. Entrants must accept all the rules listed below before submitting any photos to Mensa Cyprus at: [email protected] The theme of the competition is "LOUD".
THE RULES OF THE COMPETITION ARE:
1. There is no entry fee for this competition.
2. Every entrant of this competition must be a member in good standing of Mensa Cyprus, and must remain a member in good standing for the duration of the competition, until its conclusion at the end of September 2023.
3. Entrants may submit up to three photos. Each photo should be in JPG/JPEG format and not exceed 2 MB.
4. Entries should be e-mailed to: [email protected] not later than 7 August 2023. When submitting your photo(s) please include your full name, membership number, e-mail address, and the title(s) of your photo(s). Do not include any information (e.g., name, title) on your photos as labels/tags. Any photos you submit must not contain any writing, watermarks, etc.
5. All entries must be the original work of the entrant and photographed wholly by the entrant. AI-generated images will not be accepted. Any such entry will be disqualified, and any member submitting such images will be banned from entering future competitions. The entrant must own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image submitted.
6. Any promotion of entries is not allowed.
7. The top three entries of Mensa Cyprus will be selected by a professional Judging Panel organized by Mensa Cyprus and led by renown Cypriot photographer Vassos Stylianou. Entries will be judged on how well they conveyed the theme, on the quality of their composition, as well as technical and other considerations. The decision of the Judging Panel is final.
8. The top three entries from Mensa Cyprus will go through to the Mensa International PhotoCup 2023 Final. The closing date for Mensa Cyprus to submit entries to Mensa International for the international phase of the competition, is 31 August 2023. The Mensa International PhotoCup 2023 Final Judging Panel, which includes the Mensa International chairman, will be organized by Mensa InternationaI. The decision of the Judging Panel is final.
9. Entrants agree that their photos may be exhibited (and otherwise publicized) nationally and internationally, both inside and outside Mensa, and that their names and countries may also be published.
10. Entrants will retain copyright of their photos, but will grant Mensa non-exclusive rights for their publication in Mensa websites, newsletters, social media platforms, journals, photo SIG posters, galleries, exhibitions, and other relevant outlets and events (both virtual and in-person) without any financial reward to the entrant.
