🎭”Drama hasn’t been a part of my life for long but it certainly has changed my life for the better.
I joined Paphos Youth Theatre four years ago, when Michelle suggested, I come into the group since I was interested in performing arts.
After my first year doing the production ‘Charleston’, I fell in love with drama and worked my way up to my role of Gabriella in this year’s production this year.
Being a part of the Paphos Youth Theatre had shaped me into the person I am today, it has made me more confident and has also helped me with my GCSE Drama coursework these past two years.
Being a part of an ensemble in this production has also been an amazing experience and I could never have asked for a better drama family.”.
It happened so, that the is the last show of her, because Suzie is finishing the school. ⠀

Meet Marcella .⠀
“I never thought I would be a member of the Paphos Youth Theatre. I never thought I would be in a show and I certainly never thought I would be in a musical but hey, life surprises you! I only just recently joined the Youth Theatre in September 2019, when Michelle suggested, I audition for this year’s production, however I also do drama once a week as part of the school curriculum.⠀
🎭I can truly say acting has changed my life in these few months. High School Musical is my first production and I’m so grateful to have been given the role of Gabriella which has given me a lot more confidence, overall helping with my anxiety and shy character and further fueling my passion for acting.⠀
❤️Being a part of this amazing family is more than I could have asked for and I’m starting to finally let go and just be in the moment.”.

“Although drama is relatively new for me, I have always had an interest in it which is why I joined the Paphos Youth Theatre after I heard they were doing High School Musical.
This is where I landed the role of Troy Bolton after being encouraged, as it would help me in my GCSE Drama course.
The role has assisted me in growing as a person and help develop new skills and confidence.
Being apart of the group and production has been a wonderful experience🙌🏻”

“I started performing at age 4 with and have been a member of the competition team since 2016.
I was a part of Team Cyprus in 2018 travelling to Barcelona to compete in the Dance World Cup as a soloist and group dancer and was part of the Greece ‘Has Got Talent’ group that made the Final in 2018.
🏆🏆🏆
I won many top honors in my age categories for my singing and dancing solos and duets. I am currently studying all genres of dance alongside my Lamda drama and musical theatre classes.
I've made my only second appearance in the Stage One Pantomime ‘The Uglies Revenge’ in December 2019 as part of the chorus and a dancer and I am excited to step out of my comfort zone of dance and take on a lead acting role in this performance.”

Meet our Natalie today!
She’s amazing and hardworking Chief choreographer of the Show! Her dancers represent the powerful dancing support to the musical 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️👯‍♀️.⠀
Thompson School of Dance and Performing Arts has ISTD DDI DDE, BBO ATS & LAMDA. The School Principal Natalie-dance Thompson is originally from London and began her studies at Doreen Birds Dance school at aged 4 she continued her studies at Rohan Dance School and then on to study a 3 year musical theatre course at the prestigious London Studio Centre.
She appeared in four professional pantomimes in Kent, and performed in two ballets at the Sadlers Wells Theatre, London & The West End show of ' Babes in Arms'. Natalie performed in stage productions in Japan, Greece and France and toured with a dance company in Italy before she settled in Cyprus. Having completed level 4 dance teacher status with ISTD and the British Ballet Organisation she is sharing her knowledge and experience with the children offering professional dance examinations with all students holding a 100% pass rate to date.

Natalie is the only qualified teacher in Cyprus offering GCSE Dance.⠀

Starting with the most important person our director Michelle🎩.
Michelle Nonyelu is a Guyanese born actress, drama-therapist, teacher and director has directed over 40! theatrical productions to date.
Trained at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in the United Kingdom, she founded the Paphos Youth Theatre in 2006. As its Artistic Director, she is known for approaching her dramatic work in a therapeutic way and has worked with autistic children, children with challenging behaviour, as well as, those in the 'mainstream’❤️.
Michelle's acting credits include: extensive work with BBC, Channel 4, Thames Television, Pebble Mill, Humphrey Barclays Production and Unified Entertainment Productions. She directed Silver Thespian Theatre Company's production of '74' in Cyprus and has played a variety of leading roles from Cleopatra to Lady Macbeth in many Repertory Theatres both at home and abroad🤩
We are incredibly fortunate to have her leading the project and we are sure you will understand why when you come to see High School Musical on the 22nd and 23rd of February.

1️⃣There were no snow in the day of the scene of New Year’s Eve, so... there were potato flackes falling on the heads of Troy and Gab🥔: not cold and yammy🤣

2️⃣That wasn't Zac Efron singing always in the movie🧐
Drew Seeley actually was the singing voice for Troy Bolton in the first movie. He ended up doing the concert tour with the cast, while Zac filmed Hairspray and honed his singing skills. Zac was singing only first sentences in some songs 🎼

3️⃣ Zac Efron had to undergo three hours of basketball practice every day because his character was the captain of the basketball team 🏀

4️⃣Ashley Tisdale originally auditioned for the role of Gabriella Montez, but director Kenny Ortega thought she would do better in the role of Sharpay Evans.🎤

Our story today is about the school, where the was shot. Do you know that this school is real?!
Meet East High School in the Salt Lake City School District in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. It was founded in 1913 and currently has an enrolled student body of around 1,900 (Wiki🙌🏻).⠀
Here in the gallery you can see how the Sports hall and the football field is looking now.
But the most recognizable sight is the locker of Sharpay, which is still pink after the movie. And the locker is even the special Barbie toy😳
School is very active in FB page and it shows a lot of their activities during the year. All the students are cool the same as the teachers, which take part in the funniest ruffles😂

As we promised, today we are telling the story of our Big idea to create show in Cyprus.
Actually we were pleased and surprised to know the story of Peter Barsocchini, because our story is also about dad and son👨‍👦
This is Serge Polivar, the co-founder of Cyprus Change NGO and his son Alexander. When Alex was 4 living in Ukraine, he first saw this Musical and just fall in love forever, learned all the songs and dances of the movie!
During 8 further years there was a new Dream and long discussion in the family about..how it would be great if Alex could study in such a cool school and there would be a drama club nearby and one day he would play a role in such a musical...
So, this the time to prove: Big Dreams always come true!🤩

Alexander Polivar has been studying in The International School Of Paphos for 3 years and the same at the best Paphos Youth Theatre with amazing teacher Michelle Tross Nonyelu!
And after the hilarious winter show of Paphos Youth Theatre in February 2019, Serge at least decided to share family Dream with Michelle...
And she accepted the challenge👏🏻, moreover they shared the idea with Natalie-dance Thompson and Thompson School of Dance and Performing Arts and she agreed as well!
Finally we have the best and the only Drama and Dancing squad and near 60 persons involved to prepare the greatest Show of this winter!

Let’s talk about the idea of creating of our .
Do you know who is on the photo? Meet Gabriella Barsocchini - the main inspirer and daughter of the Creator!👨‍👧.
In 2004, Peter Barsocchini wrote the first draft of a script for the Disney Channel Original Movie, High School Musical for his pr***en daughter Gabriella and many of her friends for whom he also named characters.
He recalled knowing the film could be a success when the first draft was given a green light from Disney.

The television film became a phenomenon that spawned billions in revenue and two sequels. The series has made Barsocchini a multi-millionaire. The first sequel, High School Musical 2, shattered expectations and records becoming the highest rated cable broadcast in history with well over seventeen million viewers. High School Musical 3: Senior Year was released in theaters worldwide and had the biggest opening weekend gross for any movie musical in history.
So you are to know that all big deals started just with The Idea!
