It is not the first snow of the season, but probably the very last one. Until today snow rarely stuck on the ground and when it did covid had ruined our plans. We hope tonight to have a winter wonderland atmosfere we have been waiting for such a long time. 50 poems will take place today on the top of Riegrovy Sady, meeting point in front of the Biergarden at 19. You will have the opportunity to listen to the poetry of Fernando Pessoa and our young poets: Via D'Agostino and Simona Avram.

Unfortunately, the rain has started and snow doesn’t stay on the ground. We will wait for the bigger snow so we can enjoy the poetry in a nicer ambient.

N o n e x i s t e n c e

I wish I could lose people
as easily
as I lose friendships,
but instead
of an absence, and ending, a loss,
there is a void
in the shape
of someone I should never have trusted.

I wish I could will
away
the void
but the blackness
doesn’t rest, doesn’t sleep, doesn’t tire.
It sucks at my
soul
like boots caught in mud
like a deep-sea undertow
like gravity
detached
from planets and stars.

I wish I could
shed
the ghosts that cling
like cobwebs to bare flesh
trailing
and gossamer
and completely inescapable.

I wish I
could
forget
the memories left
in the shape
of trust broken and betrayed,
forget
the clawing, clamoring void,
forget
the people I cannot be rid of,
peppering my life like
thistles
in summer-green fields.

I wish

myself a new being

So far, 50 Poems for Snow has taken place in more than 30 cities and 14 countries: Helsinki (Finland), Prishtina and Prizren (Kosovo), Yerevan (Armenia), Belgrade, Novi Sad and Pančevo (Serbia), Vienna (Austria), Sofia and Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria), Colomiers and Toulouse (France), Maribor and Ravne na Koroškem (Slovenia), Stockholm (Sweden), Zagreb, Delnice, Dubrovnik, Otočac, Velika Gorica, Čakovec, Koprivnica, Križevci, Osijek, Petrinja, Požega, Sinj and Sisak (Croatia), Edinburgh and Braemar (UK), New York City (USA), Berlin (Germany) and Phnom Penh (monsoon editon/ Cambodia).

This year, the festival is dedicated to Fernando Pessoa.

All the opinions ever formed about Nature
Never made a flower bloom or a blade of grass grow.
All the knowledge there is of things
Was never something I could seize, like a thing.
If science aspires to be true,
What truer science than that of things without science?
I close my eyes, and the reality of the hard earth I'am lying on
