Innovative companies should give back to the communities they serve. That’s why we’ve just released PGQ, a new data infrastructure tool, to the developer community.

What is PGQ?

A free, open-source queueing system built on top of Postgres.

Why did we build it?

The Dataddo platform processes hundreds of thousands of data synchronization jobs every day, so using a special tool to queue the jobs is essential for maintaining the stability of our platform. For a while, we used a popular tool called RabbitMQ, but we maxed out its capabilities and couldn’t find a better alternative. So, our CTO and Backend Team Lead built one for us!

PGQ offers deeper observability than RabbitMQ and is especially suited to handle long-running jobs. Plus, using it is a breeze for anyone who already knows Postgres.
