Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia
About 250,000 Warsaw Pact troops (which later rose to about 500,000), supported by thousands of tanks and hundreds of aircraft, participated in the overnight operation, which was code-named Operation Danube.

☝️the MSCA4Ukraine scheme opened its second call for applications.
Through this call around 50 displaced researchers from Ukraine, including doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers, will be supported to carry out their research in the EU or in a country associated to Horizon Europe.
The call is open to Ukrainian nationals, stateless persons and nationals from other countries with their main residence in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 who have been displaced as of that date and who are currently based outside the country.
Interested researchers can already apply with the host organisation of their choice.
The deadline for applications is 5 September, 23.59 CEST.
Two information sessions will be organized on 8 and 28 August. In addition, FAQs are available on MSCA4Ukraine’s website https://sareurope.eu/msca4ukraine/faqs-msca4ukraine/

Launch of the new ERA Talent Platform - 20 Years Supporting Researchers in Motion through EURAXESS

Today, during the Biennial Conference 2024, the European Commission launched the much-anticipated ERA Talent Platform! Together with a revamped EURAXESS portal, the ERA Talent Platform is a crucial tool for a successful , reducing mobility barriers and facilitating excellence.

Key resources for the community, such as EURAXESS, HR Excellence in Research initiative, the RESAVER pension scheme, the Innovation Talent Platform and the Research and Innovation Careers Observatory, will be gathered under the ERA Talent Platform, which acts as an online gateway for researchers and research-performing organisations.

First proposed in the Council of the European Union's Conclusions of May 2021, the ERA Talent Platform will serve as a single access point, addressing the need for a comprehensive information source and enhancing interoperability among initiatives.

This is complemented by a revamped EURAXESS portal. Over the past 20 years, through collaboration between the Commission and national representatives, EURAXESS has bridged borders and connected researchers. The new portal offers a better user experience ,easier access to information and jobs and improves integration with other systems and initiatives.
