Tuesday Tip and note to self!

Seems so simple.

The less I worry about what others are up to, the more energy I have to focus on what I’m up to. ✨🙏🏼✨

It seems the time of year for contemplation. In looking inwards, some things have occurred to me 💭

In looking back, I remember people over the years saying to me "You're such a 🙌🏻 do-gooder!" but they said in such a tone as if it was a BAD 👎🏻 thing! Imagine someone saying to you "You're such an as***le!" 🙊 Yeah, that tone.

I never understood why they would say it with such disdain 😣 and something came to me today.

I wonder if people saying something like that with disdain is because they AREN'T that?

Is it possible that the 'haters' 😤 are actually feeling hate for themselves? Because they see something in someone that they wish they possess? Or were more like?

Is it possible, that when someone is being critical, they are actually projecting their own criticism of themselves onto others? 😱

They would also say to me, back in the '80's "You're such a " (well without the hashtag 😂) -like it's a BAD thing to eat healthy, to sprout my own sprouts, to take vitamins, to care about what I feed my child?

Any, just some musing. Your thoughts?

Feeling follows ACTION.

If we wait to do something until we “feel like it”, we may never get anything done.

We feel confident AFTER taking action.

We feel motivation AFTER taking action.

Our new year goals will only come to fruition when we are willing to take ACTION even when we don't feel like it.

Even when we don’t feel ready!

A quartet of pantry ingredients creates a potent remedy to some of the ails of winter: Sore throat, hacking cough, tight congestion.

MAGGIE’S COUGH REMEDY

¼ teaspoon Cayenne
¼ teaspoon Ginger
1 Tablespoon Cider Vinegar (an organic one, like Bragg’s, is preferred.)
2 Tablespoon Water
1 Tablespoon Honey (use a locally produced raw honey, if possible.)

Dissolve cayenne and ginger in cider vinegar and water. Add honey and shake well. Take 1 Tablespoon as needed for cough. Hoo-wee.
Note: this doesn’t dissolve perfectly. Always shake well before using.

If you make this in small batches as the recipe is written, there is no need to refrigerate.

If you prefer, you may refrigerate this. It keeps as long as you need it. I like to make small batches (it is so easy to mix up.) and use it up in a just a few days.

🌼 Sometimes the feedback for something we’re excited about is quiet.

Maybe the response isn’t quite what we were expecting.

Maybe it’s taking its sweet time to gain traction.

Keep going, keep sowing! If it’s something worthwhile, it will catch on!

People with no ambition will be threatened by yours. Keep going!

This is such a great reminder and something I really had to work on in light of my upbringing.

I certainly spent enough time in victim mode. Woe be me. I was abused. My mother was mentally ill. My step dad was an alcoholic. Blah blah blah.

I didn't get to consciously choose my past, but I absolutely get to choose our future.
